I've been to Hacienda. Yes , the deck is a great party spot. Their nachos are pretty darned good and go well with their Margharita's. But the regular menu, dining in the restaurant part, well let's just say, Hacienda isn't known for their great mexican cuisine.

whew... I thought I was the only one who doesn't like Sol Azteca.. I can't deal with the bad service there and IMO the food is very bland.

Thanks
Everyone says that Hacienda isnt as good as it used to be, but i absolutley love it there. The waiters and waitresses are so much fun and really want you to be happy. i love going out on the deck! The staff is very friendly and it is a good place to go if your looking to have a fantastic evening.

The original poster was asking what place had the best Mexican food, not where to go to hang out with fun waitresses.
It seems like if you really care about having good food, you should go somewhere else and Hacienda's is the place to go if you want to sit out on the deck having nachos and Margaritas in a party atmosphere.
I get the same feeling about the Riverside Sudswerks place. If you are going out with some loud friends and want to drink and "hang out" without paying much attention to the quality of food and service, it may be a place to have a good time.
If you want to focus on the food, then there are better choices.

Along the food subject - I'm hungry - what happened to Black Angus? They had good lunches. Hate to see us lose dining choices.

What have you tried? Did it include Mexquite, La Fiesta, El Rey (next to Gold Miner but have since closed), Lolitas, or Las Cerros (in center but across from REI)?

Wait, you don't like any Mexican places here but do like Black Angus? There's no accounting for taste, or lack thereof, I guess.

I was thinking the same. On the plus side if they liked Black Angus lunches, Tahoe Joes is a good more local\small chain with much better food.

There is a place on Greenback where I actually saw a mouse/rat run from the kitchen towards the bathrooms. So I'm obsessive about cleanliness.
As for Black Angus & taste, I don't know what you had there that was so awful, I just loved the zucchini appetizer. I can not afford Ruth's Chris every night.
