Folsom is not an exempt area, no where is. Drugs are everywhere. I would think in this area of influential people with 6 figure incomes that they should be paying closer attention to this problem. I hope they find where he got his supply from that is most important.
It is unfortunate that kids have to resort to selling brownies with pot at school. Pretty sad.

One of the reasons that FHS has the drug problem is exactly that. They/their parents have money. They can afford drugs. Just like other kids ,whose parents dont have money, join gangs...leading to gang violence being more prevelant than drug use.

I'll take peaceful drug use over gang violence any day of the week.
I would rather be Backpacking

Maybe his mom baked them and asked him to sell them to help pay the adjustable mortgage.

Unfortunately, a newsweek article with anecdotal evidence and low external validity does not reflect reality. Prescription drug abuse is of course prevalent, but you're pretty out of touch if you believe kids are trading codeine and over the counter cough and cold medicines to get ahold of "good" drugs (i assume you mean prescriptions like oxycontin, vicodin, dilaudid, klonopin etc). I frankly don't believe that more kids are into prescription opiates and benzodiazepines than alcohol, which is a far harder drug than marijuana.

I'm not sure why you included that link to signs of methamphetamine use; nothing in your previous posts had anything to do with amphetamines (besides ritalin, which is an amphetamine salt and not methamphetamine).

EDIT: "-the drugs used to make a designer cocktail meth-head."

I'm still scratching my head as to what you mean by this.

och--

re-read the post. whatta think is happening to your pain relievers and non addictive drugs that you thought you had more of? (by you--I mean that generally-not your personally)

Kids are resourceful. They are smart. They know who sells, deals and looking.
They know who knows who.
So, easy to sell drugs on the blackmarket, to get cash or trade for what they want as a high.

It really is not a difficult concept.

The thing about the whole meth underground is that every user becomes a dealer as well.

Where are you getting your information? Drugs are not like pokemon cards, and as someone who is familiar with the drug culture, I can confidently say that your ideas are laughable. From what you're saying, somebody would willingly trade a drug with recreational value for a drug without recreational value that is available over the counter?

And then that dealer who took the prilosec from you--will sell it to someone on medicaid or someone with no health insurance and prolly make enough $$ to back another expedition to a local high school.

Your dealer accepts prilosec? I've got a metric ton of them from my GERD days.

I have no idea what the target in this area is--but there is a black market niche for every conceivable thing that insure health cared recipients receive.

Wait...so this is the business model if I'm following it correctly...

1. Kid swipes ordinary over the counter medication from home
2. Drug dealer trades illicit drugs for OTC medication
3. Drug dealer sells OTC medication to someone without insurance (who can easily buy medication at store since it's OTC)
4. Drug dealer takes an expedition to high school
5. Presumably the cycle starts again

Seems like there are a few steps missing. Why involve the high schooler? Why not just sell OTC medication to people without insurance? Seems like a much more direct plan.

Uhm, most recently In'n'Out. Dead on noon there's punks just loitering around the place. I'm not old enough (yet) to assume a 20y/o is 12, these are real school aged kids!
