By the way, the signs ARE readable at the SPEED LIMIT and any one who thinks that the green signs are going to stay up is an idiot!
Now I'm done!
Questioning the spending of tax dollars on a past project may prevent something like this from happening again.
I can read some of the signs but can't read all of them. I do drive the speed limit. I've had some out of town guests try and read the signs as we drove by and they can't.
If out of town vistors can't read the signs and the purpose was to help visitors find their way, to spend more money, what did this accomplish?
The City should have been able to recognize trends in some areas regarding revenues. The City should have the information regarding the number of building permits issued on a monthly basis and someone within the city should have been forecasting when the city would run out of buildable land N 50 and the impact of these lost revenues. I kept hearing talk of financial deficts at the city before last summer, yet that information wasn't released until AFTER the election. Since tax revenues generally trail economic indicators coupled with the downturn of building permits, I suspect the city should have realized they had revenue problems towards the end of 2007.
I would be curious as to exactly when were these signs ordered?
