We went Friday for a late lunch and it was sooo good! We brought our oldest daughter, who is a HUGE hot dog fan on Saturday and it was just as good. If you haven't been yet, it's definitely worth a shot!

However, we drove by it the other evening and it was empty - I hope they are able to make it.

you know, I've eaten there twice and the dogs were the best, hands down. loved them both. but I have tried the potato salad and the coleslaw sides. they were either so horseradished up (or whatever that heat comes from) I couldn't finish them or, with the case of the cole slaw, the second time it was practically unseasoned.
I love a good dog, but if I'm getting something to eat, I want a side with it (not fried fries). So there have now been three occassions when I thought,"hey, I want something fast, I'll go get a dog," and then quickly decided not to because I needed more than just a dog and the thought of those spicy sides turned me away. there are too many other quick choices in Folsom.
if they tone down the sides (not everything needs heat!!), I'll be back on a regular basis.

There is a lack of consistency in the sides. The coleslaw has been wildly different each time we're there, and the fries have been both undercooked, and overcooked, and once they were perfect. It's a new place though, they just need to find their groove.

absolutely. the thing about little individually owned creative spots like this is you have to be patient while they work out their kinks. chains have worked all those out and have consistency on their side. they know what works.
I'm all for supporting local and little, so I'll go back again. I just hope they lay off the heat a little and offer some good sides. Not everyone is slamming back a beer with their dog, so the heat really matters.

That's great feedback. Have you contacted the store management? I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!

on the wall behind the counter there is a sign that says, "comments?" and there is a roll of toilet paper hanging under it.
on their website, they have another roll. they apparently aren't keen to have anyone give them any. actually a little crude, if you ask me. but maybe they don't really care what people think.

Gotta have a sense of humor -- it doesn't mean they don't welcome comments. I've sent a few emails to the management and always receive appreciative replies.

well, feel free to fill them in on my behalf. I have a sense of humor, but when someone goes out of their way to tell you they don't want comments, I ain't commenting!

wow, maybe just try talking to them. Its all in good fun and they are VERY nice people. They are not going out of their way to tell you anything..
its a JOKE and it's funny.
You have a very strong opinion that you are not hesitant to share with us which is great, but its unfair to complain unless you give them a chance to do something about it (face to face).
I hope you would agree but to each his/her own.
BTW I like the side dishes

And I spoke to them directly when I was ordering, the gentleman was very friendly and interested in my comments.

why exactly is it unfair? I am sure they have come on to read the posts here. It's not such a big deal, they don't necessarily need my business, they seem to have plenty of people who love them.
like I said before, they put two of those toilet paper rolls up for complaints. in the restaurant and on their website that isn't exactly welcoming suggestions, so, in my opinion, I'll take them at their word and let them figure it out for themselves.
