Since I have studied the New Testament I know that Jesus birth was not in December. Nonetheless Christmas is the "Christ Mass", St. Nick was a real saint (a believer in Christ), and all the commericalism/gift giving have nothing to do with the reason Christmas is celebrated.

As I said before, the truth remains as truth whether anyone disagrees or not.

"Truth" is open to inteperation. There is no one universal truth. Only what *you* believe to be true.

Ah--yes--so said galileo to darwin: after commenting on the the differences between the rock and the hard spot.

So, if I interpret truth to be the total sum of my existence therefore I am_

How could one reasonably argue such--seeing that I am in fact existing?

Liar.

You believe he is a liar because he believes?

Or because he is wrong?

oftentimes many people think they are disagreeing on a basic principle yet it turns out it is actually on a fundamental usage of verbal intonation....

Call me crazy--but I think this thread was exactly what everyone needed.

Haven't seen the "fun" in posting on here--in a long time.

Glad to see people having fun, again.

Schulz died in 2000. The strips have been reruns ever since.

There was a great biography of Charles Schulz published a few years ago, highly recommended. It started out authorized and became unauthorized once the family whitewash started to wear thin. The author takes some pains to link individual strips to the goings-on in Schulz's life at the time, especially his family life.

Peppermint Patty and Marcie have sort of been adopted by the lgbt crowd but that was not the intent of Schulz. I mean, they're six-year-olds. Both characters have a crush on Charlie Brown, in fact, though neither are able to penetrate his inherent loser-ness as he pines for the girl he can't bear to approach.

I want to add my 3 cents.

I've always respected that this is Johns' forum and he gets to set the rules and the purpose of the forum If we don't like his rules we can let him know or NOT participate, its really that simple.

Most of you know my real passion lies with local politics. Eradicating political correctness and pointing out double standards is something I also enjoy doing.

I've really enjoyed having political discussions with many others on here who add value to the subjects posted. Good points are good regardless of what side posts them and intelligent people are intelligent regardless of their political leanings. We all can learn from the other side if we are truly open minded. I'd love to list names of those I admire and respect, but I would omit to many to be fair. I will say that there is a balance between left & right and others.

Its so comical to read from posters telling others what the purpose of the forum is. The arrogance some have in telling someone else to leave something they don't own, is absolutely amazing!

Its been so revealing to hear from so many, who were posting with great frequency attacking Bush/Cheney and Palin, who now are complaining about too much negativity yet it was completely OK for them to do it up until this year.

There are other sections of the forum that I consider whiny, petty and so negative that IMO, is a very poor reflection on all of us collectively as a community. I have heard this from many many others as well who stay away from the forum for this very reason. I've shared my feelings with John and again respect its his choice what to do. When I see this happening for the most part I don't go there.

Its also remarkable to me that so many are talking about all the negativity in the political forum and how much happier they are that its closed. This like a bad car wreck on the freeway, nobody wants to see the blood and guts, yet everybody looks. Its rather simple, if one doesn't want see the blood n guts or negativity, don't look!

If everyone who wants to avoid the negativity, doesn't look into the politics, they won't see it and for them it won't exist.

I do appreciate John explaining how the number of complaints from those in the political section increased so dramatically that Mods were getting overwhelmed in trying to deal with complaints and that something had to be done. This makes sense and I can understand that changes had to be made.

Old Soldier said it best when he said those who want to venture into the political section need to get some tough skin and NOT be complaining about what others are saying or simply NOT go there.
