The mother and a 10-year-old child remained hospitalized Thursday in serious condition. The two other children, ages 8 and 7 years old, and the Durango's driver have been released.
The children's father said that the mother, 46, suffered a broken neck, broken ribs, and a head injury. He also said the 10-year-old had bleeding on his brain and is fighting for his life.

That mother deserves to be locked up (she can become even more frinedly with the inmates she "ministers" to), and the father has guilt on his hands for letting her drive the kids when he knew she was taking Vicodin.
Not in one million years would my husband let me put our kids in the car if I was taking Vicodin (let alone drinking alcohol).
It breaks my heart to think of that poor 10 year-old.

That little boy is fighting for his life with bleeding on the brain. I hope they can get the bleeding under control.

Nor will I.
Her husband says he's never known her to drink and drive.. that she's a Christian. So Christians don't sometimes drink and drive? That's a new one.

Lots of folks are good at hiding stuff from their spouses. Not saying that's it but the fact that he knew she was on painkillers and still driving....yikes.

I agree he might not have known she was drinking. I'm balking at his reasoning that she wouldn't do that because she was Christian. *sigh
Did he know she was taking the Vicodin while driving? Not sure that has been made clear. If he did know, is that something that's okay with Christians in his world?

Why would anyone drive in a way that endangers their own children? And on Vicodin at that! That is a very strong pain killer....no wonder she was walking around looking for things that got tossed from her purse! She was numb!!!!
The husband knows this is serious and is saying what he can to reduce the chance of her getting charges against her for careless and reckless driving, driving while under the influence and child endangerment. She is going to get charged and if she doesn't the police aren't doing their job.
If that ten year old dies, guess what? Man slaughter charges for her.

Nor are the people who said to wait for the facts.

I normally appreciate your posts but that's a bit over the top and a rush to judgment. Doesn't mean I don't think it is ok for her to drive while taking strong meds or consuming alcohol but believe facts and circumstances are needed first.
