We had a neighbor exactly like this where we used to live. Our cranky neighbor called the cops on us because my clock radio alarm went off while we were out of town. It was set to place music when it went off and not an actual annoying sound. It would shut off after 30 minutes or so. All this lady ever did is nag us about what we were not allowed to do at our house and she wasn't ever nice. I don't know why some people are this way, and sometimes there isn't a lot you can do except grin and bear it or tell the person off, which I would only recommend as a last resort worst case scenario. Always best to try and be nice and talk it out, but sometimes it just doesn't work.

In our last house, also in a court here in Folsom, we had what I would call an eccentric neightbor. She was elderly, maybe 75, had lots of money, owned her house outright, bought her middle-aged only child son a home in El Dorado Hills, etc. But she was frugal as heck. We subscribed to the Bee, and she would shuffle on over, take our paper, and read it. When she was done, she would wrap it back up and throw it back on our driveway. She would also go through our garbage for recyclabes, this was before the seperate containers, and fish out not only cans, but used ziplock bags, like the ones for sandwiches, and go home and clean them and reuse them. I caught her on both accounts, but I finally gave in. She was a nice woman, she took care of my plants while we were moving (six weeks in transition!) and was genuinley grandmotherly to my newborn child. Plus, as a former nurse, she gave me a lot of comfort and advice as a new mom.

So, with neighbors, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.

It's called common courtesy... well, courtesy, at least. There are noise statutes for a reason.

It's when either side is being unreasonable in their expectations (expecting the world to revolve around their needs) that a problem arises. The OP was certainly not the problem, assuming that what she says holds true.

OMG - I know who she is - her ex had to get a restraining order on her because she's crazy. We lived by her and she called the cops because our dog was barking too much (we don't/didn't have a dog!). She also threw dog feces over the fence at the old neighbors because she was mad their kids were making noise in their backyard. Oh, this one time she called a tow truck because the neighbor across the street parked in front of her house, they didn't tow because it was public property. She's nuts!

Wrong... while it may be very peaceful and quiet at times it can also be even more noisy with more gas powered tools, chainsaws, table saws, log splitters, 2 stroke motorcycles and other toys.

We lived outside Placerville for 8 yrs on 2.5 acres and it was great with a rural country feel with occasional traffic but it is not like the burbs. Up there we didnt need to follow noise laws - it was freedom to do what you needed to do when you needed to do it but you also worked out acceptable times with your neighbors. Of course there is a HUGE difference between a .25 acre lot and 1-5-30 acre parcels too.

The ironic part is this crazy lady moved from Rescue to Folsom after her divorce. Doesn't matter where she lives. She is CRAZY.

Next time she calls the cops, have them call the Mental hospital to have her evaluated.

Perhaps that should be in the "disclosures" law when buying a house. Crazy old bat neighbor,

I have heard the phrase but never looked as why bat sh!t was part of it -
Here is one explanation : From Urban dictionary.

3. batsh!t crazy
A person who is bats--- crazy is certifiably nuts. The phrase has origins in the old fashioned term "bats in the belfry." Old churches had a structure at the top called a belfry, which housed the bells. Bats are extremely sensitive to sound and would never inhabit a belfry of an active church where the bell was rung frequently. Occasionally, when a church was abandoned and many years passed without the bell being rung, bats would eventually come and inhabit the belfry. So, when somebody said that an individual had "bats in the belfry" it meant that there was "nothing going on upstairs" (as in that person's brain). To be BATSHlT CRAZY is to take this even a step further. A person who is bats--- crazy is so nuts that not only is their belfry full of bats, but so many bats have been there for so long that the belfry is coated in bats---. Hence, the craziest of crazy people are BATSHlT CRAZY.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Do CAP's write tickets? Are they able to pull people over?

CAP's do not write tickets, as they are not LEO's. And for the same reason, they do not make enforcement stops. Should they on-view suspicious or criminal behavior, or dangerous driving on the roads, they have direct radio contact with all patrol and traffic officers and will report the events in real time. Then, if it can be done safely without putting themselves in harms way, they will keep eyes and ears on the situation until officers arrive.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though. They do write parking violations, don't they? I know they've handed out loads of citations during football games at Livermore Park.

I was wondering that too. We had a CAP try to write a ticket for our friends parking in front of our driveway. I do not mind them trying but honestly you could tell we were having a celebration and luckily some of our guests were on the front porch to see it before they got a ticket. I had a good conversation with our Galt CAP and he told me that he goes around searching for parking violators since it's a problem in Galt.

That is awesome that they are another set of eyes and ears for you guys...especially with all the cuts!
