Nugget is just as good as Whole Foods and slightly cheaper too.

Except they don't have as many Organic vegetables.... I always thought that if the Sacramento Natural Food Co-op would have chose Folsom instead of Elk Grove a second store would have survived.

I was so hoping that Folsom would have an indoor mall, one nice thing about Galleria over even Fountains.. I am still going to dread having to walk from store to store to do shopping during the hot Summer or cold wet Winter months. Yes, Spring and Fall shouldn't be bad but it's sure going to be a mess near each store entry with water being tracked in from wet shoes during winter. But all in all its going to be nice to have some kind of mall near Folsom.

Ever check out the malls in Southern California like South Coast Plaza?

The Galleria just announced they are reopening the burned part of the mall October 6th with a whole bunch of new retailers that weren't/aren't currently represented at the Galleria and/or in the region. The Galleria and Fountains combined are now a combined 98% leased, unheard of in any economy, and a 2nd phase of The Fountains on the boards and Westfield has pockets filled with billions.

Yea! Now I'll be able to keep my shopping to semi-locally, instead of Arden Fair, Vacaville Outlets & beyond.

Maybe the Palladio people need to go have a talk with Roseville & find out how it's done!

Donna and I were out at the Fountains last weekend. I had never been in a Whole Foods store before. I liked it. Anxious to get one of our own.

Me, too. You definitely don't want to replace your normal shopping with Whole Foods because of the price. They do have a lot of unique items that are really good, though. They also have an excellent pre-cooked/ready-to-cook/pre-made/whateveryouwannacallit area with quick meals that are much better and healthier than fast-food. A nice alternative when you don't have much time to go home a cook from scratch. That's the main reason why I can't wait to have one close enough to stop by on the way home from work when needed.

As for the other post regarding Roseville; Folsom really messed up on Palladio. I don't know what caused all the delays in the late 90's and even during the boom years of the early 2000's, but not getting this project completed back then is a major failure.

And WTF is with the Kaiser facility right behind it? That's just odd and misplaced. You'd think that the city council could have stopped that from happening so that the area back there was something that complimented the mall or allowed for future expansion. A medical facility right there just makes zero city planning sense.

The goal with the Kaiser facility was to have the workers be able to walk to Palladio for lunch; however, now the issue is that Palladio only has a few places planned where you can get a quick bite to eat as opposed to a sit down full service restaurant.

Maybe that won't be a problem for long with Whole Foods going in. Kaiser is always advertising to its members how to eat healthy and how great walking is for you. There's already Jamba Juice and Starbucks across the street. They have sandwich wraps that look healthier than a Johnny Rockets meal.

Palladio needs to get moving. The Galleria just announced they are reopening the burned part of the mall October 6th with a whole bunch of new retailers that weren't/aren't currently represented at the Galleria and/or in the region. Hopefully this doesn't (once again) steal Palladio's thunder...seems first it was The Fountains in the Summer of 2008 through 2009 with more openings still happening, then the Galleria Fall 2008 through 2009, then the economy collapsed, and now this. The Galleria and Fountains combined are now a combined 98% leased, unheard of in any economy, and a 2nd phase of The Fountains on the boards and Westfield has pockets filled with billions.

I just hope Palladio can get up and running, I really do...and be able to sustain itself.

I guess The Galleria jumped the gun when they announced in November that the mall would be rebuilt by January, eh? I was wondering why all of their ETA's came and went without another word from Westfield.

The Sports Authority deal is already a signed deal.

And I'm told the italian restaurant is now being negotiated with Johnny Garlic's.

I don't remember them ever saying it was going to be rebuilt by January. And anyways, they're doing a full scale remodel/rebuild and resizing all the stores. If you've watched the news lately you can see that they've gutted it down to just the exterior walls (the walls between the individual shops no longer exist because the entire wing is being reconfigured.

Just noticed this tonight :cheer:

Whole Foods has their signage on the building now, both on the side of the building facing E Bidwell & on the roundish entry way. And there were lots of work trucks near the front entrance.
