Section 2a reads the size limit is 10 square feet for residential, if I'm reading it correctly?

2. Campaign/election signs may be located on private property and outside of any clear vision
triangle; campaign / elections signs may not be located within or over a public right-of-way
unless authorized pursuant to Folsom Municipal Code Section 17.59.030 (D) and FMC
17.59.030©(13) as summarized below,
a. One or more campaign/election signs are permitted on any one residential parcel of
land with a maximum combined sign area of ten (10) square feet and a maximum
height of six (6) feet.

oops, ur right... Thought you were saying not allowed at all

I saw 2, 4'x8' on the southwest corner of East Bidwell & Creekside and saw a 4' x8' sign on a residents fence on Blue Ravine and Arrowsmith.

I've called and reported these last week. I'll check later and see if they have been corrected.

I'm curious if anyone else is reporting anything that is noncompliance and IF it is being addressed or not?

I had to run some errands and verified these signs are still up, 6 days after I reported them

I've also heard that the City is NOT going to address this. Pretty sad that our City won't enforce its own ordinances when it involes an elected official for Folsom!

I called code enforcement today and left a message. I asked if they were keeping track of violations so that I could get a handle on which of our council people may be violating this more than another and I reported the three Starsky signs at Quick Quack in violation of the sq footage regulations. I requested a call back. I'm doubtful that will happen (I know code enforcement is really busy and not just because of this).

I just sent an email to Mayor Howell about Starsky's illegal
campaign signs and why the city is doing nothing about them. I will let you know her reply.

You'll get a call back. Pete is a real good guy and family man trying to put food on his familys table like the rest of us.

I'd bet the farm that its NOT Pete who setting the policy regarding all this, its probably coming from the top. I'd never ask Pete this question because it puts a working man in the middle of politics, where he is going to get a bloody nose.

I'd suggest calling the CM's office, I'll call too!

If anyone has any type of relationship with any City Council person, you might want to call them as well! I suspect the other 4 aren't going out for beers with Jeff Starsky either and want to stay as neutral as possible, but fair!

I'll bet Kerri has asked about this and was given an inaccurate answer. Although I may disagree with her from time to time, she is very thorough, so it wouldn't surprise me to know she has already asked about this.

Thanks for doing this!

Pete is a good guy, as are the other Folsom code peeps I know. I will call CM's office, but might wait back for a call from Pete so I don't jump the gun. He may be able to give me more info that could be helpful.

I think the majority of this issue is just about a shortage of man power to perform duties, I think they have had to prioritize campaign signs down to the bottom of the list, and frankly-- I am sorta ok with the prioritization. Not ok with the shortage, but --well, that was a council decision to cut j obs in Folsom.

As for the Biz Pak, stuff--that may the way biz is done, it may even be legal or partially legal or tolerated-- but it doesn't make it right.

To be honest it kind of stinks of two sheets the east of graft potential.

The truth starts and ends right there. You may have all forgot but Folsom used to have two code enforcement guys - Pete and his partner, Jeff John. Unfortunately Jeff passed away suddenly several months ago and his position has not been re-filled. Now I don't know everything that code enforcement does on a day to day basis but I have to imagine most of it is a hell of a lot more important that who-put-what-signs-where-and-how-big-are-they.

Maybe we should give this conspiracy junk a rest and start asking our candidates some more important questions - like what they stand for on the real issues. Unless of course you all think Jeff's passing was part of some insidious plot hatched by BizPac.

Send a carton of cigarettes. That will get her attention.

I resent my original message to the mayor and also included all the city
council members and still have not received a reply from any of them.

weird, she campaigned hard, using myfolsom as a sounding board.

Not once, since then has she come back.

Isn't that the one thing we said why we liked about her in the first election? Her openness to the idea of communicating openly with Folsom residents? Guess it was just politician talk...
