Yep, because in its EDH location, it's right by where she works and Sutter Street is pretty far out of her way from her almost daily commute.

So what a great excuse once a month to head down to sutter street, pick up some olive oil and do a little shopping! And stop in for something to eat or get a glass of wine!

That's what I would do, not only is it keeping funds in my own town, but Sutter Street is a really nice place and is worth going out of my way to visit. It's odd to hear that a busy crowded mall is preferred.

I feel the same way, but if she's socializing with work friends then location is key. For me, I work down the road from Caligirlz and never have stopped by but look forward to them moving to Sutter. I hope they keep up the cheese tastings with Dedrick's!

Make sense about her hanging out by work.  My wife works in EDH too and I meet her to go to 36 Handles sometimes.

Just want to understand this statement: You live in Folsom, and you frequent an establishment that is farther away in EDH.  Now that your favorite Olive Oil shop is moving to Folsom (where you live), you no longer will patronize it?

Maybe, depends, but Cw got the reason right! thanks cw!!!

I routinely go to that shopping center. That's how I discovered We Olive in the first place. Actually, it was very convenient and the owners are super nice. It's the first time I ever experienced a store like that, thus "my favorite." I haven't been using as much oil and balsamic vinegar lately and I still have a good supply. There's another oil place on Town Center Blvd I can go, within walking distance from my job. Although, I may go to the new location once in awhile. I don't know yet.

BTW, when I hang with the work friends, we go all over, and have been to Sutter St many times. We've already been to most of the restaurants.

Once a month is too much for me! I've been to Sutter St a few times, usually a stroll with friends after a meal. But there just isn't that much there for me. I don't drink. Due to the way I eat, no high glycemic carbs, there aren't a lot of options... so pizza is out. Bread is out. White pasta is out. So far, there are only 2 restaurants I would consider returning to, 3 if you count Karen's. Most of the stores are primarily for gifts or nick knacks. Or touristy stores. i'm not into dust collectors. I like shabby chic stuff, but it is not my current decorating scheme, so I wouldn't buy it. I don't need any jewelry, even though there is one reasonably priced store I really like. My money goes towards my interests, none of which are represented on Sutter Street. Now if Sutter St got a independent bookstore, or a quilt shop, I'd be there frequently! Finally, my family doesn't exchange gifts anymore, we prefer exchanging the perfect gift...spending time together. My 85 year old dad in a SNF certainly doesn't need anything except a hug, a smile and someone to sit with him.

Unfortunately I haven't made it to the FM yet, as I'm typically in EDH at the gym on Sat am!

That's what I would do, not only is it keeping funds in my own town, but Sutter Street is a really nice place and is worth going out of my way to visit. It's odd to hear that a busy crowded mall is preferred.

I don't recall saying I preferred a crowded mall...If I do go to the Galleria, it's only to one or two stores, and for a quick walk for exercise. I go wherever I need to go... out of Folsom if necessary. Of course I'd love to buy everything in Folsom for convenience, but I can't.
