Actually, Mr. Trump and California are headed for major conflicts.  Trump may win some, but Calif is going to win some too, which will inflame Trump's ego.  Hopefully he won't become entirely irrational.  IMO we have an amateur president who doesn't understand "unintended consequences" and doesn't think things thru.

Jerry Brown seems willing to stand up to Washington, mostly because he has nothing to lose.  He'll be out in two years.  Wonder who will replace him?

WDYT, I had forgotten to mention on last post that Kimberly Guilfoyle was on Tucker I think a few days back and was adamant that Gavin Neusome, Lt. Governor and her EX as well will be the next Governor...who knows?

I've always found this amazing, the position by democrats and the left that Trump is "inexperienced" and an amateur.   You guys said the same thing about Sarah Palin, who actually was an executive and ran a whole state.   Funny thing is that your president was a "community organizer" before he was elected.  He never started or ran a business, never met a payroll, never was in the military or been shot at in anger but you think he was supremely qualified to be POTUS....?   Well he was not, and it really showed for the last 8 years and will do us damage for many more years.  Hopefully Trump can clean up the mess.   Chris

Chris, I joined this forum only about a week or two prior to the election, so you have no idea my views of the previous administration. I've said a couple times I am no fan of Obama.

Remember, I've been writing about business for a long time and watched many situations over the past eight years where govt policies were detrimental to various sectors of the business world, mostly in the mountain states. I often made note of these issues in my articles.

Since the election there has barely been a peep from democrats. But I do have a very serious criticism for democrats. In case they haven't noticed, the other side has basically pulled the govt rug right out from under them. If democrats have any hope of being an influence going forward, they need to bail out of their social media trance, where they spend all their time blasting someone who didn't use the correct pronoun when they were referring to some transgender wanna-be, and get serious about creating govt policies that reflect their beliefs, and start working to get their agenda moving. Unless they get their nose out of their phones looking for someone to "shame", they're gonna get their butts kicked time and again.

Who do, it's pretty evident where you stand on your postings so far....    You can say otherwise, does not matter, I don't really care.  I call it as I see them and all of your comments have been pretty much left of center so far.  But to call Trump naive and an amateur without a mention of Obama as the King of naive is just silly and wishful thinking on your part.  Obama was wet behind the ears when he got in office and never learned.  Trump is far from wet behind the ears.   And by the way, I'm a registered democrat who voted for Bernie in the last primary election.  Go figure.....   Chris

Running a government and running a business require vastly different skills.  I'll be more specific.  He is an amateur politician.

And since only republicans have been in the news since the election, that's where I direct my comments.  As I said, the democrats have been totally silent so not much to criticize, except the silence itself which I did above.

Some personal rules:

1)   I criticize whatever doesn't make sense, no regard to political orientation.

2)   Bashing things that happened in the past is a total waste of time.  It doesn't change anything.

3)   We live in the present and can only change the future.  Focus on that.

Chris, WDYT is right about Trumpolini. Consider just this ban thing. Had he waited for Sessions to be approved ( I hope the racist is not) then he wouldn't have had all this extra hate coming at him. Of course he will have a substantial amount of hate coming his way regardless. Maybe then his Supreme Court pick would have had an easier time....why am I beating around the bush? WDYT is right because Trumpolini has had 3 months to heal a nation and build bridges and he's done just the opposite,..that shows he is naive and stupid. Attacking Schumer alone shows what a naive clown he is...I STILL cringe when someone refers to him as President Trump...someone wake me..this is just a bad dream, right?

Translation: "Govt should only be run by career politicians, slick lawyers, and smooth-talking *community organizers*, and to hell with anyone who has actual experience in the real world."

What a pathetic viewpoint. Pretty sad that actual adults think that way.

Using that logic, Derek Jeter should be a terrific football quarterback.  All he has to do is put on the uniform.  Right?

It's not true. Vastly different skills are required.  Jeter would be an amateur football player and would even admit it.

Dumb analogy. You can do better than that, can't you?

Compared to the last 8 years, Trump is HIGHLY qualified to lead America. This is not debatable, unless you've been asleep for 8 years.

Oh, and besides being qualified for POTUS, he's a quality guy who is loyal to many people, big and small. It's time we put decent people in positions of power, if you get my drift. Short story below.

An amateur politician...?  He is no politician, that is what got him elected.

And your personal rules are fine but limiting.  As a student of history I surely believe things that happened in the past are very relevant to today and can be predictive of future events.  To put it in an analogy of automobiles that is why we have a rear view mirror.....  I've avoided many an accident by seeing a fast moving car coming up behind me and moving at the last second, just before it clipped me and sent me violently off the road.  And I always point out historical precedent whenever I can.   Compare and contrast past behavior to what is going on today.   Change out the characters, their race, their political affiliation, their color, their religion, their sex, their sexual orientation and ask the questions "does this still make sense", "did it bother you then but not now",  and "would this behavior or event still be acceptable".   Often today I come up with the answer of "no" to those questions and then ask myself "why".   Trails, God bless his retired heart, calls this deflection.  I call it looking at the whole equation, comparing and contrasting, seeing the big picture.   Chris

I still feel bad for the FAT (Forever Anti Trumpers) who can't get over it. In a week, it's going to be 3 MONTHS since Trump was elected. And the FAT (and the MSM) are still in *hysteria mode*?? Wow!!

I want to help the FAT, but all I can suggest right now, given their fragile mental state, is ALCOHOL!! Yes, it's going to be a long 8 years (or more) for them, so take a trip to the Total Wine store, grab 2 shopping carts, and load-up!! It won't make Trump and his army of Patriotic Americans go away, but it can soften the blow a little bit.
