The current owners took over about 5 years ago (or less I think). I've heard it was pretty bad before that...

Their request that we sit facing one another was unreasonable as absolutely nothing was going on other than two people out for dinner.

For some odd reason, my wife and I must be the only couple in town that think Sol Azteca is some of the worst Mexican food we've ever had. Having lived here a half dozen years now, we've had the opportunity to forget....then try it again, only to realize it us just TERRIBLE! Call it a difference in taste....
Aloha Sushi.... just too expensive!
Cliff House.... only if you have to have a great view....otherwise food/service sucks.
Big Dip....I guess you know what you're getting yourself into by the looks...but their sliders are greasy.....even for a slider.
King's fish/chips (or any other "Tugboat" look-a-like).... a FAR (and expensive) cry from real "fish n chips".
Visconte's Restaurant... I don't mind 2-3 hour dinners if I'm at home with my own extended Italian family but it's far less enjoyable when you're at a restaurant.

By far the worst dining experience I've ever had in Folsom was at Folsom Family Pizza about a year ago. Our kids ordered a little kid pizza and it was fine - they ate it and sat patiently for about 45 minutes while my wife and I waited for our food. My wife and I ordered lasagna and it was horribly burned when it eventually did arrive - black on the bottom and cold on top. No one working there appeared to be over age 16, but, on the plus side, they could tell we were so angry that we got a refund for the entire meal, including the kid pizza. My wife and I ended up eating drive-thru food on the way home because we were so hungry

It was such a bad experience that we have not only never gone back, but haven't even ordered their take-out since.

Oh wait, I also forgot Folsom Family Pizza. The pizza was awful, the place is cramped and every time I have gone in there it smells like they burnt 10 pizzas. It is so smokey I can hardly breathe.

Folsom is the only place in America where every restaraunt that exists or has existed serves food that tastes worse than pee and poo.

I think it's the customer's responsibility to tell the wait staff to hold the poo when you order. But they're not all bad, I kind of like McGout's Liverporium, high atop the fabulous Roxy building in the heart of the strip. Nice gift shop. I bought one of those "Got Gout?" T-shirts I wear for fancy occasions. But you're right, it's a lot cheaper to stay home and make your own poo-flavored food.
Actually, this isn't a huge complaint, but I've noticed that Chipotle will totally load up a burrito with rice - like three quarters rice if you let them. I think it's policy - the more rice, the less room for the expensive ingredients (ie, the ingredients with flavor). But on the other hand, Pick-Up Sticks will totally short-change you on rice unless you ask for extra. So maybe if the two restaurants got together it would all even out.

The thing I hate about Chipotle is that the food is like steaming poo.

I used to like the barbacoa burrito (shredded beef) until we found out there are like 1500 calories and 80 grams of fat (ballpark estimates from Weightwatchers).
