Before I share my very unpleasant experience at Yaegers, I wonder if anyone knows how long the current owners have been there. My experience took place in the very late 1980's or early 1990's. I have not been inside there since that time for a very specific reason.

The current owners took over about 5 years ago (or less I think). I've heard it was pretty bad before that...

My experience in Yaegers took place in the late 1980's or early 1990's. A male friend of mine and I went there to eat dinner. We were seated at a booth, and we both sat on the same side of the booth. The waitress informed us we would have to sit on opposite sides of the both and face one another. We asked for the manager, and he said the same thing. We refused to move, and finally they decided to serve us anyway. Two men could not sit on the same side of the booth at that time without being insulted by the restaurant management.

Their request that we sit facing one another was unreasonable as absolutely nothing was going on other than two people out for dinner.

I'll try and stay negative... ;-)

For some odd reason, my wife and I must be the only couple in town that think Sol Azteca is some of the worst Mexican food we've ever had. Having lived here a half dozen years now, we've had the opportunity to forget....then try it again, only to realize it us just TERRIBLE! Call it a difference in taste....

Aloha Sushi.... just too expensive!

Cliff House.... only if you have to have a great view....otherwise food/service sucks.

Big Dip....I guess you know what you're getting yourself into by the looks...but their sliders are greasy.....even for a slider.

King's fish/chips (or any other "Tugboat" look-a-like).... a FAR (and expensive) cry from real "fish n chips".

Visconte's Restaurant... I don't mind 2-3 hour dinners if I'm at home with my own extended Italian family but it's far less enjoyable when you're at a restaurant.

Folsom Family Pizza has been weird lately, they used to be consistently great but lately everything is starting to taste different, in a bad way :\

By far the worst dining experience I've ever had in Folsom was at Folsom Family Pizza about a year ago. Our kids ordered a little kid pizza and it was fine - they ate it and sat patiently for about 45 minutes while my wife and I waited for our food. My wife and I ordered lasagna and it was horribly burned when it eventually did arrive - black on the bottom and cold on top. No one working there appeared to be over age 16, but, on the plus side, they could tell we were so angry that we got a refund for the entire meal, including the kid pizza. My wife and I ended up eating drive-thru food on the way home because we were so hungry thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

It was such a bad experience that we have not only never gone back, but haven't even ordered their take-out since.

It must depend on when you go, or what you order. My wife, I and my adult children have been to the Zinfindel Grill at least 4 times in the past 5 years and we have never had a bad meal. We have had great service too. Soooo !!!!!

I agree with the comment on BOBO's. It was awful. I will never go there again! Also, I ate at the new greek grill across from Intel (Arzi's Greek Grill.) It was awful too. Not to mention there customer service was bad, but their special "garlic sauce" that they put on their pitas was mayonnaise and garlic salt. Last but not least the "Teriyaki To Go." The worst place I have ever eaten!!! Horrible!!!

Oh wait, I also forgot Folsom Family Pizza. The pizza was awful, the place is cramped and every time I have gone in there it smells like they burnt 10 pizzas. It is so smokey I can hardly breathe.

I've eaten at EVERY restaurant in Folsom and I can assure each and everyone sucks. All the food is like poison and all the staff look and act like ogres.

Folsom is the only place in America where every restaraunt that exists or has existed serves food that tastes worse than pee and poo.

I think it's the customer's responsibility to tell the wait staff to hold the poo when you order. But they're not all bad, I kind of like McGout's Liverporium, high atop the fabulous Roxy building in the heart of the strip. Nice gift shop. I bought one of those "Got Gout?" T-shirts I wear for fancy occasions. But you're right, it's a lot cheaper to stay home and make your own poo-flavored food.

Actually, this isn't a huge complaint, but I've noticed that Chipotle will totally load up a burrito with rice - like three quarters rice if you let them. I think it's policy - the more rice, the less room for the expensive ingredients (ie, the ingredients with flavor). But on the other hand, Pick-Up Sticks will totally short-change you on rice unless you ask for extra. So maybe if the two restaurants got together it would all even out.

The thing I hate about Chipotle is that they line up all of the ingredients side by side so that when they close the tortilla nothing is mixed. As you eat, you get a mouthful of sour cream, and then a mouthful of rice, and then another mouthful of rice, then guacamole.... I like to have all of the ingredients mixed. So, when I go, I ask them to spread out each ingredient so that when the tortilla is rolled up, I get all of the ingredients in each bite. It's not too much to ask. You should see the looks I get -- like I'm from another planet.

I used to like the barbacoa burrito (shredded beef) until we found out there are like 1500 calories and 80 grams of fat (ballpark estimates from Weightwatchers).
