Thanks for the tip for Bella Bru! I'm actually just finishing a latte I picked up after getting caught in the rain walking the dog. Very nice atmosphere and looks like some good food too! Plus they open at 5:30am 7 days a week which is great for us. I don't know if I would have ever noticed it tucked away near Albertsons the way that it is.

Also VERY good news regarding Jitters....I think they could do quite well as a coffee bar with that location. It would definitely fill a need on Sutter St.

lilah, They're also a "dog-friendly" location - they are recommended by dog lovers everywhere, as they'll let dogs stay with their owners on the outside portion when the weather is nice. happy.gif

Try "It's A Grind" in the new Broadstone Mall across the parking lot from Bel Air. It's has nice atmosphere, good service and a fireplace, too! Java Folsom is also great (across the parking lot from Raley's) but the atmosphere is lacking in my opinion.

More? Are there any? I'd be willing to have one.

DalOwnerX3,

What do you mean by "I'd be willing to have one"? You are saying that you want to open a Vietnamese restaurant?

There is one brand new Vietnamese restaurant in Orangevale on Madison, very close to Folsom. It's called L'Orchid. Their dishes are oked, a little pricey. Being Vietnamese, we are a little picky when it comes to our native foods.

Info - 9411 Madison Ave., Orangevale

Have a nice day DalOwnerX3

Blondie, what I meant was that I would be happy with one, considering there aren't any in Folsom. I didn't know about L'Orchid. Where on Madison is it?

And you wouldn't want me to open a restaurant unless you like Macroni and Cheese or Top Ramen

DalOwnerx3,

The address is : 9411 Madison Ave., Orangevale . It is only less than one mile from Folsom. The foods ain't too bad. I have been to it three times. The owners are from SJ area and wanted to establish a foothold in the Sacramento area.

Have a nice day sir.

I'm new to posting on this forum, so I apologize if this has been mentioned already. rolleyes.gif

I'd love to see a nice walking mall in Folsom.

Many people like to walk for exercise, but have health concerns because of the weather. Seniors, moms with toddlers, and other everyday folks.

The Galleria Mall opens every day at 8 a.m. so people can walk in the comfort and safety of the mall. Most stores open at 10, so this is a service the mall provides to the community.

I'd walk there myself, but it's a bit of a drive....

Why not have something like this HERE???

While we're at it...it would be nice to have a Nordstrom. smile.gif

Welcome to myfolsom Momaluta

That walking mall is a great idea! There is a mall in the works for Folsom, and that might be a great pr thing for them to offer.

I'm not sure the new mall is going to be fully enclosed. It might be more similar to the mall in downtown Sacramento. However since it will be next to the site for the medical offices future hospital, plenty of seniors will probably move into the onsite condos and they could make use of a mall walk program.

I think an enclosed mall of some kind is really needed in this neck of the woods. I mentioned this to Mr. Rackovan, and he looked thoughtful when I pointed out the advantages such a mall would have vs. a strip mall (such as the new Borders/Home Depot mall).

Groups such as seniors, moms with toddlers and folks with health concerns would all benefit from an indoor mall. Walking indoors can mean: no rain, no heat, no extreme cold, and (hopefully) no muggers or flashers.

It's not practical to drive to the Galleria or to the Sunrise Mall every day to go for a morning walk. However, an indoor Broadstone Mall would be a wonderful location for Folsom area residents.

Retailers would benefit, as well.

Think about it: if you are walking through a mall in the morning before the stores open, you're still looking at the storefront windows, right?

Window shopping leads to sales!

Sales lead to $$$ for Folsom coffers. rolleyes.gif

Maybe this idea needs to be appropriately presented to the right folks...LOL!

Happy Holidays, All!

Moma

I agree that an enclosed mall is best, and weather is one of the most important reasons.

The outlet shops are dead quite these cold evenings, while the enclosed malls are jumping.

Here's an interesting article on the subject.
