You love to point out the Badgers schedule... which I'll admit wasn't the strongest in the nation. However... you jump on the Boise State band wagon saying they are at least the number 2 team in the country. Well... looking at unbiased stats-based strength of schedule... Wisconsin was 84 while Boise State was 100. Do you still think Boise State deserves number 2... since you don't think Wisconsin should be in the top 10?

You want to re-think your new found love of Boise State???
Koz,
Thanks for the info on scheduling!
Will the strength of schedule adjust after the bowl games? If so wouldn't Boise improve as they played a better team?
There are still 2 games left, but I'm still in favor of giving Boise the 2nd place. They went UNDEFEATED and beat a higher rated BCS team. The Badgers lost a game and beat a lower rated team in a bowl game.
Where do you rank Michigan...after all they beat Wisconsin?
Don't be surprised if Wisconsin stays the same in the final rankings. I'll be surprised if they are in the top 5.
Go LSU!

Bob...
In Sagarin's rankings... Arkansas is actually 11 and Oklahoma is 14. I would imagine that both schools would increase a decent amount... but Wisconsin should stay ahead of Boise in terms of strength of schedule.
This is how the rankings will be in the end... not necessarily my preference...
1) OSU / Fla Winner
2) USC
3) OSU / Fla Loser (if its close... or else they might bump down to 4 or 5)
4) LSU (if they can hold on against ND)
5) Louisville (not that impressive of a BCS win... might drop one spot)
6) Boise State
7) Wisconsin
8) Michigan
9) West Virginia
10) Cal

Definitely! I have only been once... and my wife hasn't been in quite some time. Football and Vegas... that will go well together.
We went down to the Arizona vs UW game a couple years ago... and we had a blast. My sister and brother joined us for a weekend of partying with the Badger fans.
Will be trying to get tickets to the 2008 game against Fresno State as well. Really not a desireable vacation spot... but I can let an opportunity to see the Badgers pass when they are playing only 3 hours away.

The kids are dying to see a Badger's game, so we'll gladly bring 'em down there. Hmmm, might have to find a weekend sitter for the kids for this year's game...

Growing up myself in Big Ten country, I was taught the Big 10 was the best and everybody else played finese football because they couldn't compete with the Big 10. When my home state fighting Illini finally made it to the Rose Bowl, I was pretty confident these Californians were going to see what real football was all about. Of course an average UCLA routed them in the Rose Bowl.
Any conference is going to face challenges in Bowl games, if they continually play against significantly weaker nonconference opponets and then just beat up on their weaker conference foes. It's difficult to prepare your players to get ready to play against athletes who are so much faster when you haven't seen that type of team during the season.
Well its on to basketball....Florida could be the first team in the country to win national championships in both sports in the same year!

At the very least, the Rose Bowl and the BCS clearly established that the Big 10 is not the dominant or best college conference in the country (in football). Smash Mouth doesn't work when the other guys are smarter and faster. The new rankings that I have seen put Florida in first and Boise State in second.

Where did you see 'em? Did Wisconsin end up higher than Michigan or Ohio State? (That's all I really care about at this point.)

I think it was on AOL (which doesn't say much for the validity) and I don't remember where the Badgers were.

The big Ten was exposed in a big way by the real football powers.

SEC teams seem so much faster than other conferences. You seem to have tough bruiser teams in the Big 10, finesse in PAC 10 and speed in the SEC.

And the BCS is exposed as a travesty! Ohio State is NOT the number 2 team in the country in terms of skill but they don't have a better system and in order to try to maintain some credibility they had to give the second position to Ohio State. The Ohio State team I saw Monday night would have been trampled but USC and maybe even Boise State.

USC also would've beaten Fla.

I saw in the polls where USC was ranked 4th...behind the Chargers, Saints and Da Bears.
Do they do a final BCS poll or not? The AP & USA poll had some differences where teams where ranked.
I know many are saying its time for a playoff system...but maybe the way its done now keeps the lively discussions going. Of course I'd like to see Boise play Florida and USC against Louisville and the winners play each other....naturally LSU would be screaming injustice. Maybe that is why there really isn't a playoff.
