Sounds like one of the prison crews...I say "Let them eat fish!" Might be the only good meal they even got today laugh.gif Seriously, I think the turtles might be better off if left to their own devices...get a bunch of 'em up on a platform like that, all out in the open, and the hawks will be picking them off probably. If they eat turtle. I am sure the hawks and such could find better meals and all...but a platform out there seems like it might become a big serving platter...an "all you can eat" buffet for amphibian lovers! wacko.gif

How do you know they didn't eat the turtles?

What we have here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here on this thread, which is the way we all wants it... well, we gets it. I don't like it any more than you posters.

GREAT pull! On a related note, my favorite uncle calls my son "Cool Hand".

I just want to set your worries to rest...because I know you all are loosing sleep over these poor turtles. I was on a walk yesterday with my kids and we saw a family of turtles sun bathing themselves on a floating log in our swamp (oops, I mean lake).

1) Nobody is losing sleep over those turtles.
2) I'm also glad the platform is gone, it was an eye sore.
3) It's not a lake, it's a pond.

I don't know--last I heard the prison don't do clean ups like that except at state properties and freeways.

Seems all a little off--if you ask me. wacko.gif

Our city has a long history of having prison crews clean up areas around town, including the exterior of schools on non-school days (before it got to expensive to pay for the green guy with the gun). They did a really nice job cleaning up the wetlands along Natoma Station Drive. It had become a real jungle, and now we can enjoy it.
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

the crews do a really good job of keeping things neat and tidy and I am for people being production, learning a trade or skill than paying for them to sit around serving time.

the work's not easy. they work on all days, the hot and very hot ones too. it is my hope that with these new honed skills they can be productive members of society.

kudos to the City for being forward looking.

1) I was being sarcastic about "losing sleep"
2) I haven't been on for a while so I was just picking up on the majority view that commented on the turtles being eaten by prison work crews.
3) It may be a pond in the fall and winter and part of spring but in the summer it is a swamp.
4) Thanks for this bullet idea...it is making me feel so powerful...I will definitely have to use it more in my future postings.
