Another good point. Why do you feel the need to scream it from the rooftops? I don't badger people with my sexual orientation or religious preference. Couldn't you just suck it up and keep it internalized a little more?

And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.]

If swmr kept things internalized, then he wouldn't be a very effective gay rights activist now would he.

As for the name, Johnny Cakes, I'm just a fan of The Soprano's.

I think swmr should adopt your avatar
And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. I am not trying to make other people follow my view but am politely expressing mine.

I disagree, though it's not like I'm angry about it or anything. I just don't think most people realize how preachy they actually are.

"Tell your kids about people like the OP but also explain it is not how God intended people to live."

"We don't need more people like you."

Point taken, those words were a little harsh. I think I just got caught up in the emotion of it. I will try and restrain myself a little more.

While I believe that being gay is a sin against God and man, I also am grounded enough in reality to know that this kind of thing goes on in the world we live in and that I have to accept that there are some people who don't know how to live right. If being gay is your thing and you are proud of it, that is fine but please keep it to yourself and stop trying to boast proudly of it in public places. We don't need more people like you.

and why should he be quiet about who he is? because in offends your delicate sensibilities?

Anthony2173 and I smoked cigars with that guy a couple of weeks ago. You have no idea how badly I wanted to crack on him for that role, but he seemed like a nice enough guy...for a greasy Italian.

Oh wait...this is a thread about the gay kid, not greasy Italians....well...except for him playing the part of a married gay gangster...

Once again, everyone is entitled to an opinion though, right? You know...everyone has one and everyone else's stinks?

I'm offended that people are actually throwing out the "offensive post card" for something as innocuous "while I believe...". You people out there who insist on finding such deep fault with Christianity are generally the same ones who insist everyone else be "tolerant" of all religion other than Christianity. The hypocrisy would be comical if it weren't so scary. You point your finger and insist other people be tolerant of opposing views, only as long as it's something you agree with. What a joke.

I think the boys from South Park said it best when they did this episode . Do yourselves a favor and watch at least the first 7 1/2 minutes of this video. As always, with South Park it's not safe for work, but it absolutely addresses the ridiculousness of this whole friggin politically correct, tolerant, self aggrandizing society we've managed to create.

Lawyers suing people under the guise of "tolerance", political correctness and "feelings" have degraded this country into a pathetic, weak minded, wussified nation of dregs who are latched onto the government teat. This includes people who can't function without screaming from the rooftops that they are different from other people, and sue because they end up getting treated differently.

I'm so sick of people who refuse to stand up for themselves, not because they are too weak to do it, but because they are too weak minded to do it. Instead, gather your posse of lawyers and "support groups" and cloak yourself under the protection of the very laws that were created by people who WERE strong enough to stand up for themselves and fight REAL tyranny, scream for the media to pay attention and make life uncomfortable for COUNTLESS others. Mr. Spock said it best...the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Too bad nobody is strong enough to stand up to the real bullies of the 21st century.

We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

Is this topic about religion or homosexuality?

Or are they one and the same, after all every day we hear about someone filing a lawsuit against the church because a GAY priest molested them as a young boy. While I believe in Religion, I feel the church is the largest scam even perpetrated against humanity. They suck more money out of us than any other organized crime organization.

The lawsuits are just a bunch of bandwagon jumpers realizing that the church is willing to pay to keep people quiet.
