You are exactly right. I filled the gas tank up approx 10 miles before it died. The dealer said I have to find the charcol canister and blow it out with air -- then I will be fine. Or I can take it in and have them do it and they will charge me. I have to find out where this canister is (he didn't know from memory). This may be a good thing... I would like to learn more about the scooter and do some of my own maintenance.
So.... any updates? Is it running again?

No, I know I should have waited and asked you for help but... I dropped it off at the dealer this am on my way to pick up something for my dad from his doctor. We are putting my mom in an assisted living facility today, my dad has cancer surgery tomorrow and beween taking them to physicians, lawyers etc... not to mention my job... I took the easy way out. The good news is that they are going give me a break (probably not charge me) since I just bought the scooter. We will see. They said it will only take 20 min which means I could have done it myself by the time I took it over there and did the ppw. Still I know it will happen again sometime and I need to know what to do. Now I am going to be nervouse to even fill it up.

If you aren't removing the canister the only thing you really can do is not fill it up all the way. Leave a little space in the tank for expansion. Or, after it's been sitting in the sun with a full tank before riding it, open the gas cap to vent it. Seriously, if you ever want help or have questions I am more than willing to help out. Let me know next time.

thanks Chris, I really appreciate that. I will do it. I would like to meet both you and Andrea and I am getting kinda excited about this scooter stuff. The threads on this forum about scooters have helped a lot. That is why I started considering a scooter.

Not to sound sarcastic, but Peanut Butter brings tears to a preggers eye.
you know what really makes me cry lately? When chris or my son make me laugh really really hard... it always turns into crying... and then I laugh, and then cry... and they think it is super funny!!
I think they are doing it on purpose!

Yes it is. It was a loose fuel line and it came off.
When I went to pick it up - i say lots of new scooters in boxes. The service manager said they ordered a lot of scooters. They are selling a ton of them.

How's the scooter working now? I am kind of at a standstill until I take my safety course at the end of the month. I picked up the paperwork for my permit and plan to turn it it on Monday. Do you have to take the test for the permit or just the license? Do you know if we are tested on the Motorcycle Handbook or the regular driving test?
