I want a big freaking audacious, bold, dauntless, dignified, gallant, he-man of a bridge and I want it to be named the Johnny Cash Memorial Bridge. I want a replica of his hat bronzed and mounted at each side of the bridge... and a big sign sayin
Right now they will put up a sign with the saying "
Folsom Lake Crossing, named by the council for the council and to the council.
And the only thing bronzed on each side of the bridge will be fist with it's middle finger sticking up and a plaque with this message... "to the people"....
submit that to your bridge naming contest
Man, can't you just smell the testosterone!

Woohoo, we have a Libertarian on the council. Kerri, you have just made my day. You may not be registered as a Libertarian, and you may not believe in the entire Libertarian platform, but the bold above is fundamentally how most Libertarians would describe themselves, Socially Liberal and Fiscally Conservative.
So which Engineering field are you in? Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or other?

I got your pm, but could not see the screen to respond to you.
On the subject of the traffic - when the Dam Road was closed, the traffic count was 18,000 vehicles per day. The assumption is that the majority of that traffic then moved to Natoma Street, with some using Folsom Lake Crossing and others using Riley and Rainbow. The numbers are likely up from the time the Dam Road closed. I am assuming that people who live past City Hall, heading toward EDH (Willow Creek, Briggs Ranch, Empire Ranch and beyond) will use the Johnny Cash bridge, to go north of the river, along with the EDH'ers, meaning that those 18,000 people will go across the Johnny Cash bridge instead of Natoma Street. At least I know I will!
If you want to converse directly, please email me at the address shown on the City's website.
Thanks!

Sounds like you're involved with rusty bridges. Or dam gates that won't close? :-)

Do you know what time the construction workers are supposed to stop making noise in the evening, and what until what time in the AM?
Wondering---10-11 pm every night is getting old.
6-7 AM on Weekends is getting old.
