Yeah, I know. She was traumatized by the whole incident. It was Fat Tire too! But like I said they gave us a new pitcher. Thanks Mama Nardi!
Oh and then we went to see Meet the Fockers. Pretty focking lame I thought. The Star Wars preview was cool though.

My experience comes primarily from Arizona. I know there are two pizza camps: New York style (thin and crunchy crust) and Chicago style (deep dish with lots of meat/sausage). For New York style, try Taste of New York. For Chicago style, try Barro's, where their "thin" pizza is about two inches thick, and it comes with so much mozzarella cheese each piece gives your arteries a workout.
Best pizza I've ever had in California is Riverbank Pizza in Colusa. I don't think there's any secret to their stuff. They use real cheese, great choices of sausage (linguise!) and they're not shy with the toppings. My wife likes garlic and raves about their Garlic Lover's pie. Definately worth your time if your tripping to the casino or can afford a few minutes off your trip up I-5.
If I had to go with a chain, I'd say go with Papa John's. Their marinara sauce is the best of the national chains and they use real cheese (not that processed stuff that Pizza Hut uses). I don't know what it is about those Kentuckians but they do know their pizza.
I've yet to have a unique pizza experience in Sacramento. Someone told me to try Ruffino's in Rancho Cordova, but I was not impressed. Their toppings seemed pretty stale to me and their crust was oordinary.

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know." -- Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld

"New York pizza" is meant to be able to be folded over and eaten like a sandwich....makes it easier to eat on the run. The crust is thin and flexible for just this purpose.

Have you tried Chicago Fire on Sutter Street, Paesano's in midtown Sacramento or Zelda's in midtown? Paesano's is my favorite of those three, but Chicago fire is pretty darn good and it's "different" to boot. They're worth a try in any case.

Chicago Fire is good. The thin crust is very good, but I thought the pan pizza was rather nasty.
I still need to get over to Mama Nardi's. Giovanni's on Folsom Blvd. (around 55th St.) is pretty darn good thin crust, and it's a more filling thin crust than Chicago Fire.

Their pizza is quite good. Too bad it takes so long to actually get to your table.
