I was wondering if anyone had actually registered one of the Claimyourvisacards.com. We bought a diningroom set from Bassett Furniture and had gone through two of the gas/grocery programs with no gift cards ever having been received. When we were offered the third program, Claimyourvisacards.com, by a representative from Bassett we said no and filed a suit in Small Claims Court. So I would like to know if anyone has actually registered a certificate with this latest rebate company and if there was definitely a $9.95 registration fee involved. I've read through many websites and also understand with the Claimyourvisacards.com company there are a number of situations listed in their fine print that will disqualify participants from the program after registering. For example if you miss one month of sending in receipts you get one "do over". Meaning if during your rebate period (most are 20 months) you miss sending in receipts two months in a row you are disqualified from ever collecting on your certificate. I don't believe the first two certificates (from Tidewater Marketing and BBZ Resource Management) had this stipulation.

Hey fthomas,
I really wish you good luck in your suit, I can't believe you were offered 3-rd time the voucher from the store angry.gif
Please post here how the process and how it goes in the court.

I am one of these who haven't registered yet, as I am waiting few months to see if it works at all.....
I think, rda is the only one who actually went forward ....
good luck !

We also couldn't believe that Bassett had the nerve to ask us to go with a third company. We're already getting several spam calls a week that started when we registered with the first company. The other option offered by Bassett was a $500 in-store gift card to be used toward a minimum purchase of $2000. We would not walk into a Bassett Furniture let alone spend another $2000 with them. In addition, in order to receive either the $500 gift certificate or in-store credit we would have to sign away any right to ever collecting on the original promise of $500 in free gas/groceries. Here is the disclaimer they want us to sign and return with our choice of options:

“By signing this letter and in consideration for the replacement gift card or store credit, I release Bassett, Bassett Furniture Industries, and BFDI, LLC from any liability relating to my gas, grocery, or merchandise gift cards under this or any previous offer.”

In other words when this replacement gift card company goes belly up like the last two, Bassett will officially wash their hands of any responsiblity of fullfulling their obligations to their consumers. We just think enough is enough.

That's just shocking! wink.gif

I particularly thought this quote directly from that article, was quite interesting:

"The damage to BBZs rebate certificate business from the Pouls Parties conduct made it imperative that BBZ act to protect its consumer data mining business for the benefit of its creditors, business partners and other stakeholders. "

BBZ Resource Management actually posted at their gas/grocery rebate website they had filed for bankruptcy on July 1. What's interesting is that Michael Pouls who had a $900,000 investment in BBZ's program is the owner of one of the two companies offering the certificate from Claimyourgroceries.com. Remember them ... the third company providing rebate certificates for Bassett Furniture. I think somehow they're all interconnected and that from a business model point of view none of these schemes are designed to work. I believe they are designed to pull in a lot of money in a short amount of time. They sell hundreds of thousands of certificates, companies pass them out, consumers pay to register these certificates and for a short time some even receive a few gift cards. Then someone walks off with the money and leaves a bankrupt company to either be put out of business or close down.

Uh huh.

Wonder how many people send in their $9.95?.....If enough people actually do that, they could walk away with a pretty penny..... Who wants to bet that these other two companies file for BK soon, and this guy starts up another one or two of them again? Hmmmmmm...... fishy, eh?

Hi There,

I just registered to CalimYourVisaCards.com - two weeks ago for $600 Groccery Coupons which I got through Becks Furniture, Folsom. When I filled in registration form and send them $9.95 registration fee check, I forgot to attach copy of state ID. Based on just that one thing they disqualified me from rebate program - today. They said our terms and conditions says that if you get disqualified you cannot apply for any other rebate for a year and there is no way for you to resubmit your application again with all necessary documents.

This is total scam and rip-off - just because of I missed attaching on doc - they disqualified me from my $600 rebate and not letting me re-register or re-send me application again, and I lost my $600 bucks in rebates.

US government or any institution will let you re-submit application if its incomplete - but this company is literally ripping - off ppl if application is incomplete or anything is missing in it.

Give them credit, at least they stopped having the "lost our lease, everything must go" sales every 6 months. This is at least a fresh scam. Look forward to the next program that will separate people's money from their wallet.

There are all kinds of small print items that can disqualify certificate holders from collecting on their Claimyourvisacards.com vouchers. For example they have this disclaimer before entering the code for your certificate at their online website: "All questions must be completed during the registration process or the certificate is disqualified".

And more ...

"The Registration Validation Form along with the refundable registration fee to activate the coupons must be postmarked within Five (5) days of the registration date. Postmarks later than five days or Registration Validation Forms received without the required refundable registration fee are disqualified. "

"If during a particular month you fail to submit your receipts, or if you are disqualified, you will be notified for that month, but you will be given a chance to redeem during the next month. If you fail to submit receipts or are disqualified during a second month, then you are disqualified from the program."

"The Fuel Product has the simple requirement that 100% of the charges on the receipt must be for fuel (gas or diesel). It cannot contain candy bars, oil or anything else. The receipt is disqualified if it contains more than fuel purchases."

Apparently this new company is trying its hardest to make sure they have a lot of reasons to disqualify participants. Perhaps after the U.S. Postal Service finishes its investigations of these "free" gas/grocery programs there will be some regulations passed.

BTW, I didn't see on the voucher any expiration date.
So I assume as long as long as most of us are waiting to see whether or not the program send out gift cards the voucher is still valid rolleyes.gif ...

Look a little closer.

This coupon voucher must be registered 45 days from receipt, within 10 days of a full moon falling on the 10th even day of the month of your birth, and not less than 2 days after Paula walks away from American Idol but not more than 3 afternoons after Pres. Clinton returns home from North Korea.

Good luck.......I registered mine last week and am sending in my first montly voucher with receipts on Monday. Time will tell.
