QUESTION: What happened to the person in the Folsom Lake Bowl car accident a year or two ago?
Submitted by: Dave, Folsom

ANSWER: Tera Lee Nicholson of Folsom was arrested Jan. 10, 2012 after her car barreled through the bar patio at Folsom Lake Bowl on East Bidwell Street, injuring five people.

Nicholson pleaded no contest to drunken driving causing injury, according to Sacramento Superior Court online records. She was sentenced to seven years and four months in state prison. Now 43 years old, she is at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowcilla.
According to a story in The Bee, about 12:30 a.m., Nicholson's vehicle crashed through a wrought iron fence and into the patio occupied by patrons of the bar, casino and bowling alley. Folsom police reported that five people were hurt, but none of the injuries was considered critical.

Drunken driving is not an accident. That said, it sounds rather severe compared to similar incidents. Perhaps there were extenuating circumstance....a really high BAC?, prior DUIs? leaving the scene (according to the original report).

Also, from what I recall, even though they said the injuries were not critical, several of 5 had injuries that would have life long lasting effects.
