I thought you folks might be interested in a photo of opening day at the Elk Grove Dickey's last week.. the lines continues throughout the week and it seems Elk Grove residents are coming out in droves. The line stretches all the way past Round Table Pizza..and no it's not due to slow service - just sheer demand. :D:

Thanks so much for the welcome! Yes we will be doing kids eat free every Sunday, Tuesday Buy one get one free, and various other seasonal promotions. We will also be offering the free ice-cream that Dickey's is known for serving to its customers.
We will be providing loyalty cards to employees of the larger companies around the location and will actively be promoting the restaurant over the coming months. Our projected opening date is April 24th. We do hope that Folsom will support us. I certainly look forward to welcoming you to our restaurant

Any updates on when opening date is?
I would love to sit down to BBQ this weekend at your establishment.

We are projecting 9th May for the opening. We have been delayed because there are special requirements for the ducting of the smoker and we now have to wait again for the approval of these plans. But we are getting close - the signs went up today and the interior is all but ready. We begin staff induction next week!

Thanks so much for your patience - we cannot wait to open either!

Best regards

Ray

Wonderful news!! See you very soon. I've already checked out the menu. I'm going to order the bbq chicken breast with original potato salad and either green beans or bbq beans to start. All have a pretty low fat content and I'm trying to diet. Hang in there, Ray!

We will also have a menu that lists meals under 600calories that will help people who are counting!

If you come by I will be sure to give you a free sandwich card that you can use when we open. :-)
Cheers!

Sorry for being a bit quiet lately - we have been slogging to try and get everything just so for the parent company. We have been given our opening date by Dickey's of Thursday 24th May - just a couple of weeks away now. We tried for the 9th but we just could not get there due to last minute planning and fire prevention issues.
But now we are ready and just have to wait for the boys from Texas to fly out to handhold our first days!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Cheers
Ray

I stopped in for lunch today! There was a long line, but it moved at a reasonable pace and the owners and employees made everyone welcome. Service is assembly line-style, like Subway or Chipotle. I ordered the Texas brisket with potato salad & green beans, which also included a roll, onion, and pickle chips. Total came to $10, and it was a lot of food. There are 3 BBQ sauces in a self-serve station, all kept warm. There is also a complimentary self-service jar of jumbo pickles. You also get free soft-serve ice cream too, but I didn't take any as I ordered to-go. The food was very good, and the Hot & Spicy sauce lived up to its name. The food was good--brisket was moist and flavorful. Don't ask me about authenticity though, as I'm a 100% west-coaster. The staff was very friendly and I look forward to returning. Just one downside that should be addressed--they don't serve beer.

okay, we went today too. yeehaw! it was very good and we will definately be back. I had the sliced brisket with the original dickeys sauce, bbq beans and colesaw. We also had the pulled pork. the quarter plate has a quarter pound of meat, two sides and a roll. very good. Mrdavex already addressed the sides and his review is right on.

the brisket was fantastic. you don't need a knife to slice it. the bbq beans had a wonderful smokey flavor. very good and a good value. I saw lots of little kids enjoying their free ice cream and adults getting those big pickles too.

welcome to the neighborhood, Ray! Dickies could become a habit!
