The truth starts and ends right there. You may have all forgot but Folsom used to have two code enforcement guys - Pete and his partner, Jeff John. Unfortunately Jeff passed away suddenly several months ago and his position has not been re-filled. Now I don't know everything that code enforcement does on a day to day basis but I have to imagine most of it is a hell of a lot more important that who-put-what-signs-where-and-how-big-are-they.

This isn't accurate! I personally spoke with Code Enforcement, NEVER was it said or implied they don't have time to respond to these reports! Code enforcement was very professional and direct.

Speaking of facts, Mr Gaylord has received calls from Code Enforcement about his signs and from my understanding has had some of his signs taken down. Why isn't Mr Starskys signs facing the same scrutiny?

I can't imagine a bigger issue than making sure that our local government is treating all its Citizens in a fair and consistent manner in its enforcement of its ordinances! Clearly, the City isn't going to make Mr Starsky remove his illegal signs!

If you want to bury your head in the sand and ignore the corruption in having a sitting council person seeking reelection and having the city selectively enforce their sign ordinances, that benefit this incumbant over a challengar during the election season, that is your right!

We will never be a first class city if we all stand by and allow our local government to be used as a weapon to punish some and rewards others with its services!

You'll get a call back. Pete is a real good guy and family man trying to put food on his familys table like the rest of us.

I'd bet the farm that its NOT Pete who setting the policy regarding all this, its probably coming from the top. I'd never ask Pete this question because it puts a working man in the middle of politics, where he is going to get a bloody nose.

I'd suggest calling the CM's office, I'll call too!

If anyone has any type of relationship with any City Council person, you might want to call them as well! I suspect the other 4 aren't going out for beers with Jeff Starsky either and want to stay as neutral as possible, but fair!

Nope, no call back. I know code enforcement is busy. Too bad the city's too busy to remove Starsky signs, but does have time to remove Gaylord signs. This isn't the guys tasked with enforcing the code, it's from higher up for sure.

If that's happening, that is a really sad state of affairs.
I noticed one of Roger's signs on Sibley looks like it was run over.

Have you tried Pete's direct line at 355-7316 ? I will call him again this afternoon and see if we can connect.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Yep, I had left him a voice mail. Pete is a really good guy and I don't want to get him into any trouble. This isn't his fault.

I just left him one as well - suggesting if they were limited in staff the community could help by taking one of the two Starsky signs down and leave them on the ground.

I also think we should take photos and print them and present them at the next city council meeting along with our comments that we have called code numerous times to get the issue resolved - would love to get Starsky's response on this - I will take pics and print but cannot attend a meeting as it is too late for me. Would like a volunteer to accept the pics ( Hope others take them as well as I only go into certain areas- ) and present them to the council.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Hmmmm, maybe its time to call one of the local TV stations to see if they can dig into what is going on, especially if Gaylord is having his signs taken down, but Starsky's are still up to this day.

Wouldn't that be cool to see Starsky's pale face as they stick a camera and microphone in his face to ask him why he is getting preferential treatment, or interview someone from code enforcement.

Scrooge McDuck must have run it down with his Dusenberg

Starsky is worried, he knows he's done a terrible job and has been selling out Folsom to his developer buddies that have him on a short leash. It's painfully obvious in his article in the Telegraph that he fears a younger, smarter, less own-able candidate.

STARSKY NEEDS TO BE FIRED, DO THAT JOB WITH YOUR VOTE THIS NOVEMBER EVERYBODY!
THE FUTURE OF FOLSOM DEPENDS ON HIS REMOVAL.

Deleted by me.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

If I'm reading Kerri's response correctly, it sounds like she is confirming that 2 big signs on one property is illegal?

Mr Starsky, has had some of these illegal signs up for nearly 4 weeks or half the campaign, giving him a clear advantage over the other candidates!

You really have to question his integrity in that if he is willing to break the laws to get elected, to what extend will he go on other issues?

Another obvious questions is why is it taking the City nearly 4 weeks to adress soemthing that has been brought to their attention weeks ago? If they can contact Mr Gaylord and remove his signs in timely manner they can do the same for Mr Starsky.

IMO, there is a huge stench coming out of City Hall over this! I called the CM over a week ago and left a message to address this and NOTHING has been done! His inaction on this is indicating he is looking the other way and encouraging this double standard!

His inaction speaks about his integrity as well!

I called CODE using Pete's direct line again yesterday and he again called me back this morning. He asked for specific locations which I gave him 3 and he said he would look into them. I told him all he had to do was to take one of the two signs down in each location and all would be fine.
He was going to get some clarification of the regulations.
If I see no change in the Starsky signs in a couple of days I will call him back unless he calls me back first.

And as far as Kerri's comment "multiple big signs are likely to exceed the maximum square footage in the sign ordinance, by a couple of feet." , we are not talking a couple of feet, we are talking 64 Sq ft for the two signs Vs the allowance of 40 Sq feet...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.
