Light rail will be opening for service on October 15. For those of you who have NOT seen trains, they are out there and they are running during the ongoing testing period. If you stop past the stop line, and a train comes by, the roof of your car will be visited by the crossing arm - which will not be a good thing, and will endanger your front bumper from being introduced to a train. I believe that trains will also be running during the Folsom Live event (Guess Who) on October 8, to allow people to get into the HD, without having to drive there and try to park. That would be a good way to get to take a test drive, without ever leaving Folsom. I believe this will also be free - so plan to log off this website that evening and attend Folsom Live!

Thanks Kerri. I agree that enforcement needs to be stepped up, but I also understand that officers can't be everywhere. By no means do I believe our police force is lazy. Every single member of the Folsom Police Department that I've met has been very dedicated to law and order in Folsom, and many of them live in town so they have a vested interest beyond their paychecks to enforce the laws.
I know if you find any information regarding a report regarding traffic citations numbers for Folsom, you'll post it here. We discriminating types like to get accurate, valid information, and we know you'll provide that if you can.
Thanks again Kerri.

Here's some info for bicycling...

I know a couple of people who live downtown and work in Fair Oaks. They take light rail to somewhere in Rancho, then ride the bike trail in to Fair Oaks.
So Light rail allows bikes ? where do they put them ?
Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I'd like to see one once in awhile just parked along the road with their radar on...they'd write a boatload of tickets just doing that...

Usually the back/last car on the train has room for bikes (less seats on those cars), though in my experience there's usually room on the normal cars for people to stand with their bikes by the doors.

Light Rail
Bringing your bike on RT has never been so easy! Buy your fare and board. In the older light rail trains, simply place your bike in the rear or front of the car next to the flip-up seats. The new CAF light rail trains are equipped with four bike racks. Simply place your bike in the rack located in the front and rear of each car next to the flip-up seats. All we ask is that you enter through the rear or front doors after all other passengers have entered or exited the light rail car. Bicyclists can board light rail everyday at all hours of operation.
RT allows four bikes per car, two in the front and two in the back, on multi-car trains. However, in the first car no bikes are permitted at the front of the car, which is reserved for passengers with disabilities.
On the last train on the route each day, there is no limit on the number of bikes that can board.

Wow, I'm stuck between you two! I'm on Gold Center and Prospect Park, in the unmarked gated scary looking brick datacenter

Geez, we shoulda carpooled. Oh well, guess I'll see you on the train instead

Brown, are you in the old eTrade buildings by NEC in Prospect Green? We have offices over there too! Or do you work with me?! haha!

Don't know if it's the old eTrade building, but yeah, it's in Prospect Green. The next building to the east of NEC.
