- an In-N-Out burger (on Iron point - and just exactly how long does it take to conduct a traffic study! - Lets go folks, I'm getting hungry)
- a nice relaxing aesthetically pleasing mall
- a Best Buy
- one really good Chinese restaurant - coming from NY we've yet to find anything better than NY's Chinatown (we too eat at China House - although there is a small place in El Dorado that's good - Fortune Garden, but still not as good as back east)
- one really good Vietnamese restaurant
- one really good Indian restaurant
- one really good Bagel place (NY style bagels)
- one really good Pizza place (NY style pizza) - There's a pizza place called, "Singa's" which serves spicy jalapeno pizza... that place was always packed, then again, may be too spicy for Folsom residents
- an Asian supermarket ie. Ranch99
- a whole foods market
- a University of California satellite campus for adult education
- a nice art gallery, museum, theater, movie, and entertainment complex
- a Barnes & Nobles, and new library
- an IKEA (although, I'd prefer that it be further up highway 50 or across from highway 50 if Folsom ever chooses to annex that land)
- an indoor gym for kids (for winters and blistering hot summers)
- eventually we'll all probably need a good hospital, medical facilities, fitness and a rehab center, as we plan on living in Folsom until the end of our days....

The jury is still out on Bella Bru...our first latte there was perfect. The 2nd time, no foam, weak coffee....third time, luke warm and undrinkable. So, still looking for good espresso/lattes, consistantly served hot and foamy. Also, went for breakfast over the weekend and the oven wasn't working so no food outside of pastries.
I would love it if Folsom could get a small movie theatre catering to independant and/or second run art films (ala the Tower Theatre) Surely there has to be room for another art house besides the Tower? While on the subject of movies, how about a real good place to rent DVD's and videos...with a broad selection and lots of titles? (Think: Le Video in SF) A place to satisfy film freaks and people that love more than the "blockbuster" hits?
Being from the big city, I miss all the produce markets. Small corner stores with fresh produce. I like patronizing locally owned markets and dislike always having to go to "superstores" to get a small list of items. To that same notion, how about a smaller hardware store than Home Depot?
Restaurant-wise, looking for good Indian cuisine. Still haven't been knocked out by any of the Asian offerings. And looking forward to the new Mels, for good diner food. Does anyone know when that's slated to open?

I find this is a great way to rent movies. You get your movies in the mail, you watch them, put them back in the prepaid envelope and send them back.
You can set up a queue of movies you want to watch and when one gets returned they will send you the next one in queue.
I'm not trying to sell this but it is a great deal.
You never have to pay for returning it late. You can keep the movie as long as you want, you just won't get another to replace it until it is returned.
Try it!!!!!!

Gee, I thought I was the only one on this board who liked Indian food.

Folsom has 2 Indian restaurants. We've found both of them OK, though admittedly neither qualifies as really good.
A 3rd Indian restaurant, India House, will be opening in Broadstone Marketplace (I think). Perhaps it will qualify as really good (icon for fingers crossed goes here). I didn't think Folsom could support 3 Indian restaurants, but hopefully I'm wrong.
We like Bombay Bistro in Roseville a lot. Also (even further) Mother India in downtown Sacramento.
Love Indian food.

Anyone try it yet? Gosh, we already have Baja Fresh and Sharky's. Is Rubio's any different?

I go to the Asian Markets on Stockton in Sac. They have fresh seafood everyday, much of it live, and the prices are so much lower than at the American style markets. Their produce is fantastic, as well.
There is one Vietnamese market at, I believe Lemon Hill and STockton. I don't know the name, but they have a huge fish department, and a great big produce department, as well.
Someone once explained that a lot of immigrants from Southeast Asia come from a place where having a refrigerator is a rare luxury. They have had the tradition of shopping daily for their food and demand only the freshest. You just can't beat 'em.

I tried Rubios at Broadstone. It was o.k. The fish tacos were decent. My husband was not impressed with the burrito.
I like Tecate Grill (is that the full name?) on Bidwell much better.
