That was tongue in cheek, BTJ. Get the bunching out of your panties.
hahaha ok you got me there - and FYI, I wear boxers but geezus they do get bunched up sometimes.
seriously though, I've never checked or known what the candidates party affiliations were. I vote for city council members based on their capability to do whats best for the city and on their past performance metrics (for incumbants)

Doesn't seem right to combine the items of a police officer and artificial turf.
I believe this is what's called "pork."

the financial argument, as you've laid it out, isn't very convincing to me either. i believe the 1 million would be better spent to finish some other small projects. were there any other justifications put forward to support the request? would you care to summerize the points from the other side?

We do agree about one thing....I care very much for my community. I care so much for my community, that I gave up my best chance to ever win a seat on the City Council this election despite, being the leading contender from the last election, to keep the field as small as possible so that the one person on the council who has been misleading everyone could be replaced. I don't know if this is something you understand.....it was never about me...it was always doing what I felt was right for the community.
Robert- Considering THE single OPTION that voters are left with in this election- you sure picked a poor time to not get in the race- and your reasoning of keeping the pool of candidates small with only Gordon as THE option surely doesnt float my boat.. He is nothing more than a self centered- ill informed - good ole boy wantabe. with no or very little self expression of how he could help the City and council ( see his poorly answered question on this forum- and Yes I have met him at the Folsomforum social ) .. as he has said himself he 'is well connected' to Miklos and touts that as one of his biggest ( my words) assets in this race...
Heck even his signs are joined at the hips of Miklos signs in some locations..
If we had two options- or at least one other responsible , viable option, then maybe something might change in the make up of the council - but likely Kerri , as she should, would be voted in regardless...

. In my opinion, they should not have been included in the same action, and I have told Staff that they should have been separated. So, I had 2 options, vote yes or no. Had I voted no, the discussion would have been that "Kerri voted no to fund an additional police officer" - which I strongly support.
Thanks for your attention to this long post - I hope it makes my opinion on this a bit more clear.
Kerri
Are you saying you couldn't separate right there at the meeting? I thought I heard the City attorney address this. I am going to watch it again.

I wonder if this website has a "random sampling" of Folsom residents or a random sampling of certain candidates friends. Frankly it seems to be the latter. Let's just hope that the outcome of this election is what is best for the community. Open your eyes folks!
I am friends to no candidate.

Robert, I think you're being unfair with Kerri. She acknowledged that despite your disagreements with her you are interested in the city and what happens here. You fuss because you care.
She has stated that she did not ask for endorsements from the boys club, so that is likely a good reason they have not endorsed her. OTOH, none of them has requested hers either. And, if you think she is not communicating with her colleagues, maybe you ought to publicly ask them if that is true. I don't think any of them would state in public that they fail to communicate with one another.
Kerri is a good representative for the City of Folsom (party affiliations aside, and of course, meaningless in a non-partisan race). I like her style and directness. I'd keep trying with the communication thing. Call her about issues. It'll get you further than back-door bashing does. You might not want to burn bridges that would be helpful to you if she is successful in her candidacy.
Tessieca,
After reading her posts do you sincerely feel I'm the one NOT being fair?
You state that Kerri didn't ask for any endorsements from her colleagues...could there be a possibility that maybe Kerri felt as though no one would endorse her so maybe that is why she never asked any of them? I've talked to some privately and asked them if they would have endorsed her if she asked, their answers were very polite but direct....NO!
There is a reason why the existing council members aren't endorsing her and I don't think its because of her style & directness!
I'm not back-door bashing anybody here. I am pointing out what Kerri has written, what she has said and the way she has voted. I'm not sharing anything she may have ever told me in private....I won't do that to anybody. Kerri is the one who suggested something about my personal life in a public forum...have I ever done that to anybody?
When I express my support for something....like the District being proactive in setting up financing for schools for S50...I want people to believe I'm saying it because its something I believe in...rather than trying to guess how I am personally benefitting from it. I'm not going to look the other way if I feel something is wrong just so I can possibly get some favor in return down the road, I thought you knew me better than that?
I'll admit that maybe I'm just a little sensitive having someone from the District tell me I'm being unfair in a public forum.
