The Badgers opened up a can on Michigan ( although Michigan did have players out), so next weeks big game is what is should be about, for a trip to the Rose Bowl only. I'm hoping its OSU and USC
I hope LSU and Oregon win out to match up in the BCS championship, but something tells me one of them may loose again.
If Kansas wins out, it would create quite the debate!
If Hawaii wins out do they belong in the BCS? I like one unknown/ small school every year to cheer for!

Wow... quite the weekend.
OSU... goodbye. This season isn't over... and we could still have plenty of surprises to follow. I can't see Kansas winning out... they still have to play Missouri... and if they win that game will have to play Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game. If they can win both of those... I'd say they deserve to play for the national title.
I don't know about Hawaii. Strength of schedule is discussed a lot for certain teams... pointing out that weak schedules should keep a team from competing in a premier bowl game. Anyways... Hawaii's strength of schedule is currently 157 out of 242. Any thoughts???
Nice game by the Badgers. I know Michigan was missing a few players... but one thing that has hurt Wisconsin this year was injuries as well. Should lock up the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.

Who do you got in the UM-OSU game.
Could be Carr's last Big Ten game? A trip to the Rose Bowl is on the line. Is Henne suppose to play?
I'll take OSU... final score... 34-24.

I respect that call. If Henne plays, Michigan wins handily 27-13. I'm not sure of his status. Without Henne, Michigan is obviously not too threatening judging by last weeks debacle.

True... it all rests with how healthy Henne really is. I guess that's why there isn't any betting line on the game yet. Nobody knows.
Ryan Mallett isn't the answer... and I don't think Hart could put the whole team on his shoulders and carry them to victory.
Should be an interesting game. At least Michigan is playing for the Rose Bowl... I think Wisconsin has a trip to San Antonio just about wrapped up. Woo hoo!

How about my call on the Illini beating OSU..2 weeks before they played.
I'm thinking OSU wins by a lot maybe 17 and then looses by double that amount to USC in the Rose Bowl.

Okay... I only thought it might happen 67 minutes before the beginning of the Ducks v. Wildcats game tonight... but another BIG upset in college football tonight!
Who knows what will happen with a few weeks left in the regular season. Just amazing!
Just a few minutes left... and its Ariz 34... Ore 24.

Anyone will say that a championship team has to survive injuries, but I think the bottom line is it's impossible for college football teams to do that anymore. USC has the deepest pipeline of talent but they are still clearly struggling on defense.
- Pat White has been out parts of some WVU games, including their loss.
- Longshore's ankle was the difference between a 40 ppg and a 20 ppg offense for Cal.
- Henne and Hart injuries render Michigan's offense ordinary (and has taken honorable efforts by both to play hurt on those occasions where they did pull off the wins).
- Florida's offense sputtered while Tebow nursed a sore ankle (effectively eliminating the running game, an important part of the spread offense).
- The only time they fielded a fairly healthy squad, LSU walloped VT.
Specifically of the Michigan and Cal situations, I think Riley and Mallett will both be solid quarterbacks and both appear to be more talented than the starters (at least, IMO). But lack of experience doomed them both.
It isn't just the QB/RB slots either. Teams can't keep myriads of talent when the better players would prefer playing time. Cal lost K Tom Schneider this year and CB Tim Mixon last year, and those losses have significant impact when the players behind them are simply not at the same talent level. But it is difficult to recruit a position if the player won't get significant playing time for a while.
At least the good that comes of this is we won't have to hear of yet another Big 12 team leapfrogging a Pac 10 team for a bowl opportunity. I was pretty sure that the winner of the mini-playoff in the Big 12 would be favored in the computers over Oregon, especially with Cal continuing to nosedive.

Ohio State is up to #5 in the BCS. Either Kansas or Missouri will lose when they face off next week. Then just two of the following three to lose (LSU... WVU... or KU/Missouri)... and OSU is back in the picture for the title. What a weird year!
