I guess there is good money in alcohol.

Verrrrry good money. That's why you'll find bars everywhere these days. It's what keeps many restaurants afloat financially. cheers.gif drunk2.gif drinks.gif
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

This post shouldn't be a novel, I see since this post someone posted our website www.folsomlakebowl.com thank you, I also saw one of the moderators posted our winter open bowling times, thanks again. I would say if your into bowling with your friends and you don't want the lights off and lazer lights and music which is our glowbowling then I would say Sunday night 8pm-11pm otherwise I would recommend Friday or Saturday nights, it's a lot of fun, and since it's been awhile since you last bowled you could easily blame your score on the fact that the lights are out and the music is distracting. We don't allow alcohol on the lanes during glowbowling though, so if you do want drinks you should go to the sports bar where we have a party all night long. I did notice the website doesn't list the prices so I will update that as well as list them here:

Open bowling
Weekdays before 5pm $3 game ($3 Shoes/person) / After 5pm $20/hour/lane ($3 Shoes/person)
Weekends $20/hour/lane or $3.50/game/person ($3 Shoes/person)
Birthday Parties $25/lane/hour Minimum of 2 lanes $3 for shoes/person
Business Parties $25/lane/hour Minimum of 2 lanes Includes shoes

(These prices are the same as only a couple bowling alleys in a 30 mile radius and less than the majority of bowling alleys. The newer Bowling alleys are usually 60% - 100% increase in price)

I will put getting bigger fingered bowling balls that are lighter, on our to-do list thanks for the 2 cents!

Cinderella you are talking about two different worlds if your friends are wanting to go for drinking and gambling then that's what they're into, and frankly there is nothing wrong with that. We not only promote moderation we enforce it. There are times that people try to indulge too much and we will cut them off or if they come to our place after already having too much we will actually not let them in, nor will we let them leave if they've been driving. It is ultimately a person's own responsibility on drinking and gambling, but we monitor it as well for everyones safety and well being.

If you want to come out bowling that is still very much family orientated for open bowling as well as certain leagues are geared towards family leagues where alcohol is not the focus. We do have leagues that are more of a party league and the majority like to have a drink while they enjoy bowling and that would be a league that is not for you. Everything is what you make of it, you can come in on a friday or saturday night and go glowbowling, where we don't allow alcohol on the lanes unless its a private reserved party. That seems the best time that you and your friends would enjoy family bowling.

Folsom is a great place to go to have a drink, there is a good variety of bars here. There is definitely not Too many bars here, take a trip to chico, or Santa Barbara just to name a couple places if you want to see a lot of bars. Not to say that I don't like either place I do like them, I'm just giving you examples. We have a variety here in Folsom, Sutter Club is a fun small bar, Powerhouse is a fun place to go to watch bands, streets of london is a good english bar, we have BJ Brewery and almost Lockdown, the Hotel which is historic and nice and old, and at the FLB we have a little of everything in entertainment from bowling, watching sports, dancing, billiards, and playing Poker & Blackjack. I'm sure you know which one I'm favorable to but none the less I think if you don't want to be involved with the night scene at bars, just come out to the FLB for Glowbowling Friday & Saturday's smile.gif

I have some ideas of a promotion with myfolsom.com and the FLB and I will talk about it with our management team to work out the details but I think it would be fun to do a myfolsom.com bowling night where we give everyone who prints out a email a discounted rate and everyone can come out and have some fun bowling! We would just need to figure what day would work for everyone, check out the open bowling guide at this link: http://www.folsomlak...penBowling.html and lets figure out a time! Saturday & Sunday days are not good because we have a ton of birthday parties scheduled months in advance! Lets figure it out and go bowling!

Sorry about the novel again, you should hear me talk about our poker!
Dan

okay, Dan, since you're putting it out there....

What's the best night/time for someone who hasn't bowled in years (YEARS I TELL YOU!) to come in with a couple of friends and play a game? And how much does it cost? I know there are times when leagues control the lanes, so it would be harder to get in. Also, do you have a website? Does it mention your snackbar food?

Entice me!!

I agree but my sister was not drunk...had a perfect recollection of the evenings events...However in Roseville and in Folsom, cops are very harsh on DIP's...if you are not being driven home...you can be arrested for DIP in bars, parking lots or the street...His actions were unnecessary but what really would have come from talking to the police...I can tell you much of nothing!!! Why take the risk to ruin your night and ultimately life...DIPs are misdemeanors...and where we work it can and pretty much almost limits any upward mobilty...not really worth putting the loser in jail for a couple days!!!

I'm gonna stand up for FPD here. They are out on Sutter St. keeping things from exploding. Believe me, you go down to Sac and the cops don't show up until the shooting starts. If ya' can't drink without being a tool, expect a night sleeping in someone else's urine.....or better yet, stay home and barf on your own carpet.

Sorry to burst your bubble....3 count em friends had bday parties there and ALL were disappointed...HOWEVER, you are right...WE told everyone we knew that it was a bad experience...Our Brownie troop, our playgroup, and anyone who has mentioned that they might have a bday party there.
Glad you had a good time and thought it was up to par.....

Sorry, Stacycam, if that sounded entirely rude. I truly didn't mean for it it to be.

But I do mean to have frustration at it all...because that is truly genuine.

Nope. Not at all. No offense taken. specool.gif

asbestoshills - I think you got your point across. We get it. You hate the place. Fine. I give credit to the owner who is trying to make things better.

Wow a lot can happen on this forum if you sleep, ok I will try to address these issues the best as possible.

Chipshot the bathrooms have been completely updated with granite and much more, they are a huge improvement to what we use to have! We also received the top grade given for our health inspection, visible at the front door.

DOJ GAL it's really hard to have a conversation with you about the facts when it was your sister that was the one that is telling you the story and you weren't present. If you could have her email me at dan@folsomlakebowl.com I would like to talk to her about what happened 2 years ago. We had a bouncer around that time frame that we know got mouthy with one of our customers when it wasn't needed and we let him go for that alone, so I can tell you that we would never tolerate that kind of behavior. The ABC regulates not only our premises inside and out but holds all Sports Bars, Bars, Clubs, etc to monitoring and regulating immediate surrounding areas as well. Even though the bank parking lot is not on our premises we are still liable for people drinking in their parking lot. Now we are really cool in regards to what we tolerate with people in the parking lot. Normally we would tell a limo party to put the alcohol back in the limo and not drink in the parking lot. We have had to pour out beer and liquor from peoples cars, etc but what your sister says she experienced happening is something that we would never tolerate. I have a felling that the employee that your describing is the same one that we let go of, he only worked for us for a month or so and would have worked for us even less than that if what your sister says is accurate, and were talking about the same person. Please contact me I'm interested in getting to the bottom of that night. The reason we have security is to prevent problems from happening. Our business is very large and we want to maintain complete control at all times.

Abestohills, the reason people including myself are challenging what you say is because one it's blown out of proportion, you take an unfortunate but isolated situation and act as though it happens all the time. I can show you letters and countless people that will tell you all day long of their personal experiences and how great of a time they have had and continue to have at the FLB. On top of that you have done nothing including after all of these posts to contact me to really make a difference. I have invited you to talk to me about your experience and I have yet to hear from you. As I stated before my email address is dan@folsomlakebowl.com if you are truly interested in making a difference I encourage you to contact me.
Your referance to copying the Roseville Location because of the fact that we have a Sports Bar & Casino is very confusing to me. Strikes bowling alley as it is a nice new bowling alley has a Sports Bar that they allow all ages in and they have it very visable to the main entrance, there are no doors seperating the Sports Bar. On top of that they have a second bar right in the middle of the bowling alley. I personally don't have any problems with this approach but for you to try to compare us to them is really not just. Our Sports Bar and Casino area is completely seperated from the bowling alley. We also only allow strickly 21 and over to be anywhere in the Sports Bar & Casino. In the Sports Bar we don't have to have this house rule because our food license allows otherwise, but as owners we choose to have this rule! We also advertise for the bowling alley as Folsom Lake Bowl and we seperately advertise for the Sports Bar & Casino as FLB Sports Bar & Casino. We do things very differently in that respect to keep the bowling alley Family orientated and the Sports Bar & Casino Adult orientated.

Overall I appreciate all the comments that have been made, and I can tell you that if you know our family and you know our employees we don't tolerate our employees providing less than excellent customer service. We have over 60 employees and we all have bad days. As an employer we try to be fair to our employees by teaching them exactly what we want them to do through countless hours of training, and sculpting them when they make mistakes, which we all do. If the employee doesn't meet our realistic expectations we will not keep them working for us. This is a never ending process and as a customer the best thing you can do for a business is to inform them DIRECTLY when you think an experience you had could have been better. A great company will find these problems and deal with them internally but if you as a customer are willing to communicate and the company is like ours and willing to listen these problems will occur less often and everyone will benefit!
Thank you for reading this

My mistake...I think the family bowling was in Rocklin...I didn't contact you because I already told you what happened..WHen you are spending almost 200 for a party/food/drink, you expect help with set up, clean up and an enjoyable day...You really should have a hostess for the party that assists with all of this..I remember just random help with the tables and no one stayed around for the clean up..I didn't over blow anything....No need to reply.

They might be hiding behind screen names, but it seems to me like your hiding behind the admins. That sounds like a 1st grader, you just threatened to tattle. Your complaining that they are picking on you for your post maybe that is because the other posts were said constructively, your post was trying to cut them at the knees. It was not helpful, just rude.

Darth tends to bash all immigrants....not everyone on this forum is an illegal immigrant....If he gets personal and it's not the proper code of conduct for this forum, I will contact the admin...enough said...

WTF are you talking about? I bash everybody with equality. I sure as heck don't play favorites. You, on the other hand, have mentioned race in every post. Find where I have said anything of the sort and print it out for me ok. You play the "immigrant race card" thing for sympathy or something. And you really need to put that tattletale back between your legs, it's not very becoming for a lady and the moderators ain't buying it.

Well let's see, I did a Google maps search on "Bars" in Folsom. The first thing to come up was... FLB! So you know of that one, and all the Sutter Street ones: Folsom Hotel, Sutter Club, Yaegers, Scarlet's, and I'm sure I'm missing something else...oh, Powerhouse. That right there is 5 within what? 2 Blocks? Plus the wine shop and brewing shop there. What's left for families? Ms. Teaz? ha! Then there's City Slickers on Natoma, Streets of London, and FLB. And it seems MOST restaurants focus on their bars...Bailies, Mexquite, The Ravine, BJ's (granted, it is a brewery). .............

Now, I'm not saying I don't go to those restaurants. I just think it's sad that the places I loved to go as a kid, like Sutter Street, have turned into something I don't have a reason to go to anymore, and certainly wouldn't take my (future) kids to.

It's not the bars and restaurants that make Sutter St unfamilyfriendly (I made that word up), it's the lack of pretty much anything else family-friendly. Antique shop, jewelry store, couple o' art shops. There's one toy store and nothing else my kids find interesting. The tea shop is good for one visit, and mostly only girls. The number of bars is fine, IMO, it's the lack of diversity in the shops that's the problem.

Ok that maybe true and Chippyroo was nice enough to change it for us....Thanks Chip...

Now back to problem...You seem to complain A LOT!!! Darth is not the issue. He was mearly pointing out that you are bashing a company that had no idea about your dislikes with them. How can you bad mouth a company for poor service when you personally did not address it with the staff? 200 is a drop in the bucket as far as parties go...For 200 dollars I do not expect a hostess to stay with my party at all times. Who cares if you had to pick up after your party...are you that dang LAZY!!!! My goodness!!! It was your rats garbage anyways!!! Nothing is worse then picking up half slobered on/half eaten pizza that has been smashed into the table!!! If you knew you were going to have to clean up after your party, I am sure you and the other moms would have ensured your "little angels" would have kept the place clean!! However as a mother it should not be an issue, just clean up and move on with life!!! I am not trying to be mean...I see your side of the story but then again I see darths side too...Stop playing the race card...it makes me sick...Darth hates on everyone regardless...grow a spine and realize that your actions not color of skin is what he is pointing out!!!

Do you realize you went to a bowling alley? A hostess? What the heck are you talking about? The Web site clearly states everything that is included with a birthday party.

I heard a Stryker's bowling alley is going up soon in Folsom....

I took my girls bowling recently to FLB. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice because they were about to do some maintainence on the lanes and he let me play at a discounted rate for 30 minutes...

I have to admit thought, FLB feels kinda skanky. There were skanky people there that reminded me of the movie Blue Velvet...anyone remember Dennis Hopper and his freaky friends?

I'm glad to hear the place is getting a reface...it needs one. I'll definitely go back if it is nicer.
