This post shouldn't be a novel, I see since this post someone posted our website www.folsomlakebowl.com thank you, I also saw one of the moderators posted our winter open bowling times, thanks again. I would say if your into bowling with your friends and you don't want the lights off and lazer lights and music which is our glowbowling then I would say Sunday night 8pm-11pm otherwise I would recommend Friday or Saturday nights, it's a lot of fun, and since it's been awhile since you last bowled you could easily blame your score on the fact that the lights are out and the music is distracting. We don't allow alcohol on the lanes during glowbowling though, so if you do want drinks you should go to the sports bar where we have a party all night long. I did notice the website doesn't list the prices so I will update that as well as list them here:
Open bowling
Weekdays before 5pm $3 game ($3 Shoes/person) / After 5pm $20/hour/lane ($3 Shoes/person)
Weekends $20/hour/lane or $3.50/game/person ($3 Shoes/person)
Birthday Parties $25/lane/hour Minimum of 2 lanes $3 for shoes/person
Business Parties $25/lane/hour Minimum of 2 lanes Includes shoes
(These prices are the same as only a couple bowling alleys in a 30 mile radius and less than the majority of bowling alleys. The newer Bowling alleys are usually 60% - 100% increase in price)
I will put getting bigger fingered bowling balls that are lighter, on our to-do list thanks for the 2 cents!
Cinderella you are talking about two different worlds if your friends are wanting to go for drinking and gambling then that's what they're into, and frankly there is nothing wrong with that. We not only promote moderation we enforce it. There are times that people try to indulge too much and we will cut them off or if they come to our place after already having too much we will actually not let them in, nor will we let them leave if they've been driving. It is ultimately a person's own responsibility on drinking and gambling, but we monitor it as well for everyones safety and well being.
If you want to come out bowling that is still very much family orientated for open bowling as well as certain leagues are geared towards family leagues where alcohol is not the focus. We do have leagues that are more of a party league and the majority like to have a drink while they enjoy bowling and that would be a league that is not for you. Everything is what you make of it, you can come in on a friday or saturday night and go glowbowling, where we don't allow alcohol on the lanes unless its a private reserved party. That seems the best time that you and your friends would enjoy family bowling.
Folsom is a great place to go to have a drink, there is a good variety of bars here. There is definitely not Too many bars here, take a trip to chico, or Santa Barbara just to name a couple places if you want to see a lot of bars. Not to say that I don't like either place I do like them, I'm just giving you examples. We have a variety here in Folsom, Sutter Club is a fun small bar, Powerhouse is a fun place to go to watch bands, streets of london is a good english bar, we have BJ Brewery and almost Lockdown, the Hotel which is historic and nice and old, and at the FLB we have a little of everything in entertainment from bowling, watching sports, dancing, billiards, and playing Poker & Blackjack. I'm sure you know which one I'm favorable to but none the less I think if you don't want to be involved with the night scene at bars, just come out to the FLB for Glowbowling Friday & Saturday's

I have some ideas of a promotion with myfolsom.com and the FLB and I will talk about it with our management team to work out the details but I think it would be fun to do a myfolsom.com bowling night where we give everyone who prints out a email a discounted rate and everyone can come out and have some fun bowling! We would just need to figure what day would work for everyone, check out the open bowling guide at this link:
http://www.folsomlak...penBowling.html and lets figure out a time! Saturday & Sunday days are not good because we have a ton of birthday parties scheduled months in advance! Lets figure it out and go bowling!
Sorry about the novel again, you should hear me talk about our poker!

okay, Dan, since you're putting it out there....
What's the best night/time for someone who hasn't bowled in years (YEARS I TELL YOU!) to come in with a couple of friends and play a game? And how much does it cost? I know there are times when leagues control the lanes, so it would be harder to get in. Also, do you have a website? Does it mention your snackbar food?
Entice me!!
