We ate there this past weekend and thought it was good. We both had the Folsom Omelette and house potatoes. It is nice to have a breakfast place so close. The food was comparable to Mimi's Cafe and out of 5 stars my husband rated them a 3.5. I would rate them a 4.

The service was excellent and I love that they kept filling up our coffee even with the coffee sitting on the table. It was a professional and clean place. Their orange juice was fresh squeezed and very good. I'm not a fan of spending $9 on an omelette and $2 on coffee so I hope they put out some coupons.

Pancakes....

2 cups flour (I use King Arthur brand)
pinch of salt
2 teaspoons baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
2 1/4 cups buttermilk

Huh. Where's the egg? This sounds really dry. No egg, no sugar, no butter, no vanilla...

JoC recipe which I use:
whisk together in one bowl:
1.5 cups flour, 3 tbsp sugar, 1.5 tsp baking powder, .5 tsp baking soda, .5 tsp salt
whisk together in another bowl:
1.5 cups buttermilk, 3 tbsp butter melted, 2 eggs, .5 tsp vanilla
once that's done combine it all and whisk it just a little until all the dry goods are wet

i give this restaurant a thumbs down because of the dirty silverware, lack of knowlege from the sou chef on what goes in what dish, and warm OJ. Yuck! I've been there three times and all times i had complaints. First time was dirty silverware, and very little butter on the toast. seriously it was like buttering the one eighth of the bread : ( second time the chef made a mistake and put mushrooms in my dish which was not suppose to be there. third time my hubby got dirty silverware, they served us warm OJ, and my order was wrong again only this time it was totally off. I mean they forgot which order was mine and there was a arguement that broke out in the kitchen with the server telling off the chef, then he went behind the counter and yelled at his sou chefs : (

Has anyone tried Early Toast, the restaurant that replaced My Grandma's Kitchen? Is it related to Toast in Granite Bay??

I think I'm with you Andrea. Sounds like a lot to screw up and if it did happen why would you go back a 3rd time if you had complaints the previous 2?? I've only been there twice, no issues and left happy both times.

neither do I, it almost sounds like it came from a bitter ex employee - just a guess tho, and I'm basing that on the fact there are 99% great reviews and 1% bad reviews - doesn't make sense...

I have been to ET 3 times and each time it was very good food and service and clean. The servers knew the menu, made recommendations (good choices too!). I have no complaints.
