How's the scooter working now? I am kind of at a standstill until I take my safety course at the end of the month. I picked up the paperwork for my permit and plan to turn it it on Monday. Do you have to take the test for the permit or just the license? Do you know if we are tested on the Motorcycle Handbook or the regular driving test?
It's been a while but if I remember right you take the written moto test to get the permit.

It seems to be ok.
When I went to the DMV to get my motorcycle permit they handed me the written test for motorcycles AND the regular vehicle written test (Iwas only expecting to take the written test for motorcycles). The written motorcycle test was not hard. I just read the motorcycle booklet from the DMV once before I went in and I aced it. There was some good info in that booklet.
I will go to the motorcycle safety class and take that to DMV and they will give me the M1 license.

Yippy I passed my written tests yesterday. I'm going this weekend to put down a deposit so I can take advantage of the free top case or extended warranty with a Fly 150. My choice is a free top case worth $450 since the 2 yr e-warranty is only $350. I am hoping to get a discount my warranty and helmet since each quote from different dealers is MSRP. What do you all "in the know" think? Jen

I'm torn... doubt it will pack it in such that you need the extended warranty, but I think top cases look goofy.

Congrats Jen!
Go with the top case because 99% of the time, extended warranties are never used, but you can always use additional storage on a scooter

I think there is something wrong with my scooter. It seems to hit every man hole cover on the street. Is there a magnet or something in my front wheel that pulls the bike over every freaking man hole cover on the road? I never noticed all these covers before! Where in the world do they all lead to? A secret Nazi underground tunnel?

Jen, what made you decide on the Fly 150? There must be more Piaggio dealers in the area than Aprilia. I could only find one Aprilia dealer. It would have been nice to work them against each other. Good luck. And let us know how the Motorcycle Safety class works out. You will be going a month before me.
