So maybe you can bring me up to speed. Is Jay Leno in support of Strikes in the old Ralph's/Albertson's location or against?

What do kids' lousy grades and Prozac have to do with this topic?

Your post seemed more world and national politics than local is all.

Actually it is about the pissin and moaning about trivial situations such as Strikes

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Well, I get that it's not much in the bigger scheme of things, but that could be said about fliers on doors, picking up your doggie's business when out walking, neighbors not mowing their lawns or parking their boat in the driveway, the buildings that were built on Prairie City backing up to Natoma Station, or any other number of subjects here.

As mentioned earlier, that 'Jay Leno' diatribe was actually written by right-wing columnist Craig R Smith for Worldnetdaily.com.

They hysteria over Strikes reminds me of the panic that occured when the tatoo shop was opening up, or worse yet, when Ms. Teaz opened.

There were claims that we'd find perverts coming to town hassling families on Sutter Street, attracted, of course, by the fact that one could by so called 'marital aids' in the back room. Never happened.

The, "It's a bar, it's a bar, it's a bar" argument doesn't hold water as long as the Purple Place, Mexquite, the Back Wine Bar, The Ravine, Rice Express, and Roma's Pizza serve alcohol.

I understand that greater than 50% of our population is on anti-depressants of some sort. Look at the person next to you, and one of you is on Prozac or equivalent.

The other 50% probably clings to their guns & religion.

Or worse still, $600 shoes and designer purses.

I still think that with a "new" bowling alley bar to go to.....................the town winos will migrate over to Strikes and thus bring my property values down, increase property crime levels, vehicle break ins, increase traffic violations, and probably end up getting cited for public urination. And then they'll have to sleep in Brigg's Ranch Park because Light Rail, which they used to come into Folsom earlier in the day, will be shut down by the time Strike's closes.

Why doesn't Strike's be a front runner and initiate building South of 50. That way, no one could ever complain about being next to them since they were there first.

Like you Said...
I do not know if this is properly attributed- but it is good any way---

Jay Leno on President Bush
As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?''
A.. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?

*edited for brevity and truth. This was not something spoken by Jay Leno, who is not a conservative, but by Craig Smith, a right-wing columnist on worldnetdaily.comwww.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/hitnail.asp

AMEN!!! (Is that allowed on a public board???)

I live in the Parkway and would love to see Strikes come to the old Ralphs. I would much rather see that then a Stupid Prices or another 99 cent store.

Ditto, and I live in Briggs Ranch. My wife & I would much rather see strikes come to our neighborhood so our son, when he's old enough to roam around on his own, has a place to go that is near home and not the seedy FLB.
I would rather be Backpacking

It's about time a new bowling alley comes to Folsom!!!!! Location? Well...sorry to hear some are upset about the old Ralph's building, and I'll try to understand...but honestly, the thought of a newer, cleaner, working bowling alley here in town is awesome!!! The pros of it far outweigh the cons as I see it.

Bring on the bowling alley!

There was an article in the Telegraph about this issue. Lake Bowl owner said he's up for the competition and isn't worried. He said they are about to do a major over-haul on the front of Lake Bowl to make it look better (newer?).

He also said a few other things which sounded, well, silly. He said Lake Bowl isn't about the bar at all because it has tinted windows and you can't see it from the bowling lanes. Um, ok. And he also said that the Ralph's location really isn't that great because Strikes will essentially be an old supermarket that they fill with refurbished bowling equipment. If you ask me, as long as they don't have DOS based scoring machines I know where I'll be going when it opens! So long Lake Bowl!!

I am SO looking forward to Strikes coming to Folsom - I wish they were going to be in El Dorado Hills.
For now, I'll keep practicing on the Wii.
I bowled a 201 last night.

I still can't believe people exist who actually oppose this.
