apology accepted. try and remember that none of this is directed at YOU, so there's no need for YOU to be defensive. you've made your point that YOU wouldn't engage in this type of behavior and that YOU haven't seen it. ok, great. there are many of us that believe it did happen.
try and keep your attitude in check, so you can keep that good rep of yours, well, except for the banned freak dancing that YOU do at the dances!
dimeracer: have you heard anything from the school?

i'm a bad kid?
Do i go out and shoot people?
Do i kick anybody's arse i see just for fun?
Do i sell drugs to kids?
nope. So that makes me bad huh?
I didn't say you're a homicidal maniac or drug dealer. I only stated that you openly admit that you violated school policy.

True dat! Every student who attended who I have spoken with say nothing of the sort happened. It stuff like that were to happen in the middle of the dance floor, word would have spread like wild fire. Kids would have backed away. Many would have said something, like Bladestrong.
Normajean, this story is so over the top it makes itself incredible. The dance area is not a large space, and the kids aren't compartmentalized. More would have noticed had it happened. The story you claim did not happen, I am certain.
Bladestrong, thanks for sticking up for you and your fellow students. Note: but don't freakdance. It's disrespectful to your girlfriend, and as the parent of a daughter who attended, I would hate to think her boyfriend was doing that.

On one hand you have kids saying this whole thing is blown out of proportion, exagerated, just a big rumor, it doesn't sound beleiveable so it's probably not, and pretty much just go on with your day cuz this will be old news in a week.
On the other hand you have adults, taking a rumor and running with it, read a couple lines of text, and have already formed their opinion, that a kid on here is a punk, bad kid, or basically is full of s_ _ _!
Who's more mature around here??!!!!
Bottom line is this..... teens love to "one up" anyone and they love to talk for shock value. Did some couple run into a bathroom or sneak off some other place and do a little bump n grind? Maybe. It wouldn't be the first time in the history of high school that something like that happened. Basically, all your adults who seem to know everything keep saying, you heard from a friend/own child (and we all know teenagers never lie), or know someone who knows someone, or something along those lines, please produce this person. Until you get some girl on here who says, "yeah me and my 10 slutty friends banged some random guys on the dance floor, here wanna see pictures we have on our cell phones." need to get over it. Stop being so gulable.

i pray that none of the girls end up pregnant nor any boys or girls develop an std. i hope that someone at the school believes the kids that DID feel it was worth sharing and did so with me and their parents and/or uncles, that have written on this thread, because it is apparent that the nothing needs to happen because "nothing happened" attitude is prevelant all the way at the top.
ponder this for a minute, why should a teenager say something to an adult, share an observation/concern that is of a pretty sensitive (and disgusting to quote my pal, bladestrong) nature, when said adult isn't going to believe it? why bother? that is exactly what is happening here. kids were bothered and disgusted with what they saw, they told some adults and oops, didn't happen, not in THIS town. again, how sad?

I'm not sure where we go from here. I'm still unsettled about the fact that multiple sources reported the same stories. My daughter was at the dance and she did not see anything like what has bee reported, but she said she stays out of the middle of the dance floor because she said it's crazy in there.

first off, i'd like to say thank you for the concern
it really is nice to know that there are people out there who actually care enough about goings-on to post on a forum about them!
but how very sad that you are so easily willing to believe these stories from HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, who make up crazy stories all the time. One comment could be overheard and things spread like wildfire. Or are all of your high school days too far back to remember this?
i'm not saying the kids who told parents and others about it were lying, just saying what they heard because they were concerned about it
its all hearsay

What is that old saying..."never trust anybody under the age of 35" is it....???? Or was that over 35...? Guess it doesn't matter since both sides appear to be wrong in this case!
I will say however that what I posted and saw was for real and the actions that are alleged sound like ones the hooke....I mean students...would have committed.

Are you assuming that I'm a school board member, or was this in response to someone else?

In the JV game it was a battle to the end as neither defense could seem to answer stop either teams potent offense. The Folsom defense held when it had to to come out on top. In the Varsity contest, it started even as it looked like laundry day at the dorm with all the flags on the field. After the Folsom offense opened the scoring at about 1:30 in, the Oakmont offense appeared to be living right after a mystery punt call gave them the ball back with great field position. Eventually things started to settle down and, aided by some defensive big plays, Folsom's offense took over. Final score Folsom 55 Oakmont 6.
So you can imagine my shock and dismay as I drove the kids home from the game and they told me all about the things that happened that I didn't see.!!! It turns out that the kids standing on the fence were actually having sex under the cover of those blankets and coats!! THEN they told me they heard that the reason the line was so long to get hot chocolate was that the volunteers in the concession stand were all so drunk they could barely stand up! Just when I thought I had heard the worst of it, they said there was a "strange smell" coming from a van in the parking lot at half time. When the doors flew open and the billowing smoke rolled out...here came the men in stripes!! Yup, the officials were in the parking lot at halftime smoking the mary jane!!
Well you can bet that I will not rest until I have some answers! How can this go on! Where were the teachers, chaperones, principals, police and school board members when this was going on! Sure, some of you would like to pretend that what I am saying isn't true, but you are obviouslly all idiots and cowards that think that if you bury your head in the sand it will all just go away!! Well I just thought you all should know what was going on right here in your hometown.
I sure hope that someone does something about this before the youth teams play tommorow!! I mean 5 games at Livermore could mean dozens of pregnant cheerleaders and even more STD's!! Imagine the emberassment of the grandparents if they ever knew that those kids huddled under the blankets next to them were actually rubbing fuzzies!! WAKE UP PEOPLE!! DON'T THINK IT'S NOT HAPPENING!! You soccer moms can keep driving your gas guzzling SUV's around with your cell phone toting delinquents around town pretending that it's not happening, but you are all just suckers and fools!! Denial ain't just a river in Egypt sister!!

NormaJean I also attend Folsom High and please excuse me to start off for my frank replies. I'm not a rude person but I am EXTREMELY opinionated and I am sick to death of hearing adults exaggerate about things that happen in this city. Just because a few people do something does not mean everyone participates.
Just to start off I don't want any stabs at my grammar like the ones that occurred in an earlier post. To set the first record straight, the vast majority of Folsom High students have taken AT LEAST one AP course and I for one am in AP English (I'm not bragging I just don't want all of the adults in this city to live under the false impression that teenagers are not as intelligent as adults because I've seen many occasions when teenagers were MORE intelligent than adults. That's the whole point of getting an education; improving your knowledge so that you can become smarter than the previous generation). So teens can be extremely intelligent whether you choose to believe it or not.
Okay on to the next false idea.
STUDENTS WERE NOT HAVING SEX ON THE DANCE FLOOR!!!
I know you told Blade (yes I CAN call him Blade because I actually know him) that it would be impossible to be in every spot at once on the dance floor. This may be true but what else did you hear from these 6 students that attended the dance? Maybe that the gym was extremely hot that night? That the students were frequently moving OFF the dance floor between songs to go outside for fresh air and to get a drink of water? There were plenty of openings for chaperones to walk straight into the middle of the floor if they wanted.
Okay now here's one of the biggest controversies that I want to clear up for all the "concerned" parents in Folsom. Freaking is just dancing. What do you think your parents thought of breakdancing in the 80s? Or maybe what did your grandparents thing of disco clubs? Each generation is different so it's completely biased, hypocritical, and unfair for the parents in this city to say freaking is horrible. It is just another dancing fad like any other that comes and goes. Yes, it is sexual, but we KEEP OUR CLOTHES ON!!
I FREAK!! Everybody freaks!! That's how people dance in the 21st century! Maybe if you went to a dance though you would see that we also play swing music occasionally (which people DO dance to because it's fun) as well as Rock music. I will admit though that the vast majority of music and dancing is freaking with Hip/Hop and Rap. It's fun, it's harmless. We're big boys and girls now not toddlers. Some of us (like me) are 18 years old and perfectly capable of deciding how we want to dance. This nonsense about banning a specific kind of dancing is merely a generation gap that needs to be breached.
Okay now back to the whole public sex idea. Nobody at our school wants to have sex in the middle of a crowd of 500 students! That's completely ridiculous. My best guess is that "Susie" told "Mary" who heard it from "Johnny" that "Mike" saw "Jimmy's" best friend having sex with his girlfriend. Okay, and this passed through how many people as hot gossip before reaching your ears? More than likely it was one couple being very risque on the dance floor, more so than usual at least, and someone overexaggerated.
Another explanation might be just the rumor mill of underclassmen who heard about the Homecoming dance of '05. YES, people had sex during that dance because 2, count them 2, people were caught under the bleachers. As a result they were suspended and the bleachers are no longer opened for dances. We lost the privilege to sit down somewhere between songs because a few people screwed up. Life happens and we moved on.
I don't know what grades these 6 students were in but I'm a Senior this year and I've been to every school dance (with the exception of other graduating class' senior balls and junior proms) we've had since freshman year. Okay so that's 11 dances total including my own Junior prom last year and this year's Homecoming. I never once saw anybody having sex and I only knew about the '05 Homecoming incident because I currently work with someone who was a Senior in Student Government that year and she told me about the difficulties they had afterward with parent complaints. Of course some teenagers make bad choices but they suffered the consequences and we're still trying to earn back privileges that we lost 4 years ago!
Okay so here's EXACTLY what took place last Saturday at Homecoming. The dance started at 7pm and there were only 3 party buses that I ever saw. Two were for groups of Seniors and one was for a group of Juniors. So whomever was laboring under the delusion that freshmen showed up in party buses, sorry you are wrong. Now there is a specific dress code that applies at ALL TIMES on campus whether it's during school hours or during extra-curricular activities. So the girls did not have dresses that were obscenely short and again it's a matter of this generation gap between fashion styles. Yes the girls' dresses were short and the guys were not all dressed in their Sunday finest. I completely agree that some of my friends need a reality check that we don't live in downtown Brooklyn. Some guys dress like hood rats and that's their business. I'm sure they'd piss their pants if we dropped them off in a ghetto in Sac but that's an entirely different matter.
So back to what happened at the dance. There were A LOT of random breathalyzer tests before going into the dance. In addition, guys had to empty their pockets out and girls had to show a teacher the inside of their purses. Everything that was not a durable object (like a phone or keys) had to be thrown away in the trash cans while the teachers looked on. A girl friend of mine who was behind me in line had to thrown away an entire pack of gum because she wasn't allowed to have it inside the dance. Now like Blade said, if any "leud" behavior occurred on the dance floor the chaperones would remove our ID bracelet as a warning. Then if we got caught again they took our School ID card and we're banned from the next dance. It's as simple as that.
Now this large group of people dancing is not a big issue. Yeah we don't want to get in trouble for freaking so we go to the very middle to dance "provocatively" but that's ALL THAT HAPPENS! There's no sex of any kind happening at school dances. I'd chance a guess that there were a few people on drugs at the dance because they popped E before going in or smoked a bowl before driving over to the campus. But this happens everyday! I hate to be the one to break it to you. Once again though, only a small percentage of the student population participates in these activities.
So I apologize again if I offended either you or any other parent that reads this post but we are not all juvenile deliquents. We all push the boundaries and test our limits at some point or another but nearly 98% of the students at our school are thoughtful and intelligent young adults who make well-informed and RATIONAL DECISIONS.
Choosing to have sex in a crowd of 500 is not rational.
I rest my case.
Let the angry responses begin, I'll take them all and give you well-thought and intelligent answers to any questions you have.
Your time begins....now.

There is absolutley no question that the above was indeed written by a High School student.
