That place rocks, the first time my friends and I went there they gave us a free pitcher of beer....needless to say, they won a customer for life here too biggrin.gif .
Plus I really like their prices, they make going out for lunch more affordable and the best part is that the various combos are pretty good.

We paid $16 for 2 dogs, 2 sodas, 2 sides. Is that good? Am I just out of it? I thought that was high.

Stupid tax! rolleyes.gif

I thought the service was great, the ambiance great and I did enjoy myself. The food was ok.

I guess I just forget that stuff adds up. Money sure goes quick, doesn't it? tongue.gif

My husband and I had lunch there today. My husband loved his dog and I absolutely loved my burger! (I know, there's probably a law about ordering a burger at a hot dog restaurant) The burger was the perfect size and rivals any burger I've ordered in Folsom. Service was fast and friendly! We'll be back.

old soldier gave it a try. seemed to be I had to bite harder to get a piece of the old dog. my frane of reference on hot dogs is the ones they serve at costco and for my money you get a better dog at costco for a lot less.

of course costco doesn't have fries and a cold beer.

It is sort of odd to be paying more for weenies than for an in-n-out burger. The beer prices are par for the course anyhow.

Urban Dog came out to my daughter's school for an event on Friday night. They donated a % of the proceeds back to the PTA. They were awesome! The hot dogs were great and the folks working the booth were amazing. I cannot wait to go into the restaurant and try the different menu items! And they accomodated annoying people like me who can't have dairy (they let me look at the bun ingredients and didn't judge smile.gif )

Thanks for helping Empire Oaks Urban Dog & Sausage! We'll see you at our next event!

I just cant handle the awful bun or roll that you get with a costco dog. It ruins the whole thing for me. Plus the toppings are non existent. Its ok if your hungry and already at costco but I dont think I would drive there just to get a hot dog. Would you?

That is why I LOVE to support locally owned businesss. they contribute so much back to our community. When was the last time you saw Sam's Club or Wal-Mart do something like that?
Not because they don't want to (I don't think) but becuase the sheer size of the corporation makes it practically impossible Intel is the exception around here, I think.

Actually, to be fair, Wal-Mart one year donated backpacks filled with school supplies to the children at Theodore Judah. I had already bought a backpack and supplies that year and wasn't aware they were going to be doing that, but it's the thought that counts, I guess. I just saved the donated backpack and he used it the following year.

I think Target also donates to local schools.

I love Costco hot dogs. I agree that Urban Dog has great service and o.k. hot dogs.

Corporations giants such as Walmart and Target do indeed have giving programs.

They get so many requests, however, that they have to really formalize the process and sometimes, only the most organized and professional organizations get the funds.

Ask any small business around here, though, and they'll tell you that they get hit up for donations and sponsorships all the time.

I used to be on the board with a local non-profit, and had to deal with both the big and small companies.

With so many struggling, it's getting harder and harder to get donations from either side.

Each Walmart store has a local charity budget. They have limits how much they can give to one organization so they really spread it around, and you don't have to be huge to get their attention. The one in Rancho gave us a thousand bucks for Spikes for Bikes last year, and there were about a dozen of us in the club at the time.
