I will be happy to accept an iPad if anyone wishes to purchase one for me! I cannot justify the money for a toy like this when I can great results with my MBP.

I don't know if it was pointed out already or not but we talked about there not being a file system... but yet we knew there was a way to work with files to attach etc to emails.

Anyways, it appears that in the SDK there is a "shared" file directory that mounts to macs, pc's or other iPad's I believe.

Some convenient mechanism of sharing content, attachments, etc. since there's apparently no filesystem to mount, between the iphone and imac.

It sure isn't sexy, if so. Otherwise that might've been a good feature to demonstrate?

LOL... Well how sexy does it need to be? Sounds like a pretty boring feature to show-off. I'm sure it's just a mountable hd/folder that you can add or retrieve files from. It will probably allow a hierarchy of folders I'm guessing as well as have spotlight search built-in. But that's my guess... only thing we know for sure is that it does have a pc/mac mountable file system for sharing files.

Oh, and now I hear that Apple is going to allow VOIP on it... hopefully that's true.

I would think the file system will be accessible from the iPad itself. Maybe not... guess we'll see when a developer show's some screenshots or something.

If they chose NOT to demonstrate a user-accessible file system, but DID choose to demonstrate the BRICK on the NYT website, then... major fail on Apple's part.

ipad pre-orders started.

bluetooth keyboards available in addition to the docking one. It appears the docking one also has a few ipad buttons whereas the normal bluetooth keyboard doesn't.

I assume a bit of talk will be started over the next month on this device so I didn't think it would hurt to resurrect the thread.

Interesting to see how well it does with orders. Poor name, lacking features, cant tether to iPhone and doesnt really do anything more than a notebook\iPhone today.
