Not sure why I'm having so much trouble making the transition, but I need help (again) where is the "Last 24 Hours" tab.

Thanks!

I don't see that tab either.

One place to find this tab is on the main page of MyFolsom.com, on the little red bar, where it says "What's new on the Forums" or something like that.

And I'm pretty sure it's just the old posts that have the broken reply boxes. It seems like there's a difference between snapback (whatever that means) and reply.

Hmmm, does bbcode still work? test test2.

Do you have plans to re-do just the forums? Or all the other (Visitor Guide, Yellow Pages, etc.) as well?

Yes, I will eventually do all of it - baby steps

I can see the potential of the new framework. I'm mostly indifferent between the old and new version. I haven't been here in awhile so it was a surprise but functionally both are okay to me.

My first reaction is only that it seems a little more mainstream and sterile than the previous version (in terms of style) and it looks like there is more white space. And having ads under the first post was a little offsetting -- never seen that before (I thought the thread ended after the first post).

But the new version does look clean and uncluttered. Anyway, looking forward to seeing how it morphs over time.

Not that it makes that much difference, but I wondered why the ads appeared in that location.

I'm sure you have a to-do list a mile long, and you probably already know this, but just in case....

It's weird that when you click the 'tomato pages' logo on the banner, it takes you to to myfolsom forums, but when you click on the Tomato Pages tab on the black bar, it takes you to a page that displays links to all the other tomato pages websites.

Keep up the good work! This doesn't hurt my eyes like your old forums sometimes would.

OK everyone, I shifted some forums around in an effort to make it more understandable to the casual user. Most people search through "Last 24 Hours" anyway, so that won't change. I know this won't be popular with some of you - however the forums have gotten big and we need room to grow. I still plan on re-skinning local forums; I am still tinkering with all the colors - still trying to flush out all the blue.

Someone asked why quotes were not showing up in green on some posts - I think these are older posts and somewhere along the line the new code didn't like it. New posts should be OK from here on.

As for ads - I will put them where I can but it appears I will need to be a little more creative, at least for now. The forum version is still pretty new.

Mrs Tuffpaws - yeah, this is frustrating. However when the MyFolsom skin is applied it will make more sense.

I know everyone has their own opinion/suggestions on the changes, and you smile and nod and ignore most of them (as you should), but I'm not sold on the change to black and white scheme on the forums page. It's a little harder on my eyes than the previous blue(s). I also really miss the alternating shades on the topics, it helped me see what was what, instead of a blank white background.

hank you for the feedback - always appreciated. FWIW, we have not had alternating shading in rows for about 4 years. When we upgraded you briefly saw the "out of the box" template.
I really strive for simplicity from a usability standpoint... black on white is (believe it or not) the easiest color combination to read. At any rate, once all the tinkering is done (getting close), I will soon work on the local forum templates, which will be similar, but different. This software is much different than the old one - so I am limited in some ways by the changes, at least until I can understand it all.

OK, "new posts" works good and so does the "up arrow" for TOP.
RE-create the quicklink for "World Politics" and I'm a happy camper.

OK, I still don't have a quick link to the politics, but I can get their in two clicks.

I just used the search feature twice and I am wondering if it can be modified or are we stuck with what it is.
I want to be able to search topic titles only like I used to be able to do if that is possible.
I would rather be Backpacking

Umm, I just got back from vacation and I think I logged on to myBerserkley.com instead of MyFolsom. I knew changes were coming, I just didn't expect the magnitude. Oh well, I guess I'll adjust. I ain't leaving!

I haven't posted on here in a few weeks, and I like it - it's surprisingly simpler but more high tech seeming at the same time.

It's funny that I'm the old school one who misses everything the way it used to be, and I saw OTHER people on here saying the same thing for the old layout, lol. :) ;)

Btw welcome back OS81. Thought maybe the new forum cosmetics may have scared you and others off. Guess people are busy plus no politcs forums.

John another suggestion - for ads, maybe an announcement of new sponsor ads or coupons a they go online so that we can check them out sooner. Good for biz, good for members.

Haven't had a chance to look around much and I know you'll be tinkering for weeks or months on this but...

one small hope. I personally like the name of the poster above their avatar instead of in the header of the post (if that makes sense). Maybe this change is already planned or maybe it won't happen but that's one little pet peeve I can tell I'm gonna have...LOL.

Thanks and keep up the good work guys.

Ps. Forum rocked on my iphone : )
