We should do lunch sometime! Not that there's really many good places around here

Tell me about it! The Rancho food scene is pretty much explored and played out.

When I worked off of Mather Field road I used to love to go to Las Palmas.

Yeah, not much around here. Can't wait until the Chipotle opens up though!

We do Ole Mexico on Sunrise for mexican.. pretty good stuff, and they cater a lot of our events too! I'm just so sick of teriyaki chicken and togo's
Occasionally we actually drive back up to Folsom for Sushi or Indian

That's 3/4 of my lunches right there! There's actually a really good hole in the wall Mexican place, El Puerto (?) on Folsom and Olson. It's in the crappy little strip mall, behind the fish and chips place.

Folsom Blvd (in Rancho) scares me. As it should!
They're building a ton of stuff down on Data Drive, supposedly some shopping and dining too, perhaps we'll actually see something new to eat before my job gets shipped to india!

I'm in if you'll have me. I too am in the fabulous WebEx building here in the heart of the strip.

Okay, still no trains spotted. Does it not run when I'm going to work? I thought they were running a "full schedule" now. I had hoped to know the train was on my exact timing

Here is a link to the schedule:

Trains are supposed to start running on Oct 15th, I believe.
The schedule only lists the times for the major stops, but they usually stop at every station.

So, drumroll please, the final train will be arriving in Historic Folsom at 7:21pm, 7 days a week.
First train leaves at 5:01am (ugh, who's up at that time?) on weekdays. Saturdays it's 7:31am and Sundays's and Holidays are 10:01am
A trip from the HD to Mather is 18 minutes. That's just about what it takes with traffic anyway!
So, $1.75 each way (not counting using passes, or seniors or a student, who get it half off, and don't say we never did nothin' for ya!). Not bad.
It's 10 miles to my work, at 34c/mi, that's $3.40 (although I think it's more with gas prices these days).
$1.65 less, and only a few minutes longer. And I don't have to deal with idiot drivers and traffic? I'm so there!
About 250 days on the job, not including trips to SF where LR is going to be a Godsend getting me to Amtrak. Times two trips per day (I like to come home). Over a year that'll save me $825, not including time/hassle with car tires, speeding tickets, and any unforseen accidents or radiator explosions!
Whooppeee.. bring on the trains!

Looking at the LR schedule it appears timing is everything. I currently ride from 65th street to Sunrise. Once the Folsom line opens up, half the trains will end at Sunrise and half will continue on to Folsom. You need to make sure your timing is right so you don't waste 15 minutes at Sunrise to get on the next train to Folsom.
30 minutes from Glenn to 65th - not bad....
