Just saw this on the news. Hideous and a complete waste of money. All in the name of being "different" even though it's been done to death in college football.

Such a waste. They have blue friggin uniforms too, you won't be able to see them. And I guess the soccer team will enjoy playing on a blue field as well.

Who makes these decisions?

Waiting for "The Professor" to chime in...

Does the revenue from the cell towers go to the Folsom Cordova General Fund or to a specific use such as sports boosters,  etc?           Did Prairie City Stadium require more turf coverage compared to Cordova's Stadium?

It goes to the Special Capital Outlay Fund.  They borrowed $600,000 from it to fill a budget gap in 2010-11.  It's supposed to be paid back over six years.

I'm not sure about your other question, but if I were a parent in Cordova I wouldn't care about the color.  I'd want to know if that field also received the CUSHDRAIN pad.  It's not only supposed to lengthen the life of the synthetic turf, but the manufacturer claims it helps prevent injuries.

Who says I've never been to a game? My kids have attended both HS.
I feel I have a pretty good handle on the school spirit/morale and pride as well as sport (and many other clubs) participation.

Okay so no you have not been to a Friday night Vista game. It's hilarious that you feel you have a pretty good handle on participation, and yet you feel Vista just needs to have picnics instead of bleachers.

That wasn't meant towards you specifically. More or less towards "you" the people thinking FHS is getting all the funding.

hahaha you make false accusations and when called out you claim you were talking about the other "you" even though you quoted me in your accusation. Interesting.

I like my anonymity.

I would too if I made some of the posts you have made.

What I've never liked about small towns- people like you that are pushy and snappy, judgmental and try your best to force a pissing match into every conversation that pops up. For the second time on this thread.... Chill out.

Still trying to piece together facts. According to the article in The Folsom Telegraph, the turf needed replacing because it was a decade old and seams were ripping, causing safety issues.  The total cost for the new turf was $700,000:  $400,000 was the cost of the turf alone (no mention of the special pad, though it was mentioned on Hellas site) and $300,000 was the cost for installation.  The project is still not complete because they can't personalize it with a Bulldog and such until Vista can play at their own field.  The Eagles need bleachers and a press box and they are hoping to have a bond measure in the next couple of years.

A bond measure for bleachers and a press box? This district is out of control.

But, but, but.....it could attract more talent and talent scouts to Vista which is stumbling on it's rear due to lack of spirit and participation. Just think how many kids will get 4 years rides once the press have a place to sit!!

Still trying to find out who paid for Richardson and his staff to go to Boise. They got their "unique" field, but that will be little consolation to teachers when they are asked to run fewer copies because the school is low on funds.

I'll be danged if I have to pay for a bond to purchase bleachers and a press box. This should have been included in the construction of the school. I'm not interested in supporting another bond anyway.

Names? No, I didnt call you any names. I did call you on on your behavior. You are still at it. Really, just chill. This is a thread about a football field, not politics.

I stopped by today to check out the new turf.  It is not as bad as I expected; it wasn't as shocking as I expected.  The red end zones do nothing for me, but the blue is interesting.

I would like to officially request the stadium name be changed from Prairie City Stadium to Smurf Stadium.

Calling people pushy, snappy, and judgmental is called name calling.  It's generally a last ditch effort to save face when someone has completely lost a debate.

BTW name calling has nothing to do with football or politics so you should probably look in the mirror and reflect on your behavior.  Do you allow your kids to go anonymously online and call people names?

I will be interested in watching a game there.  I wonder how blue jerseys will look on a blue field.
