Oh wow - those images are so cool. Is that really what is planned? I cannot wait to see them.

So are the funds for the artwork and statues coming from private donations?

Yes, private donations. You can see scale 3D models or artist renditions of these works in the lobby of the 48 Natoma Senior & Arts Center. These pictures posted here are great, but don't do them justice.

I've talked about that for years! There should be a Folsom themed gift shop on Sutter Street selling Johnny Cash music, posters, t-shirts, etc. I think lots of folks would buy Folsom prison stuff, Folsom Lake, Folsom bike trail stuff, Folsom Rodeo, Pony Express, Powerhouse and Folsom Live merchandise.

There is sort of a store in old town Folsom with this stuff - it's at the old rail road station that houses the Chamber of Commerce. They have some cool Johnny Cash and Folsom shirts available there. But really there should be a full blown shop opened on Sutter St. That type of stuff would sell fast!

You are right, Dave. Someone is missing a great opportunity here.

Ok, let's all invest in the myfolsom store. I'm more of an idea man, and I'm broke, so that's my contribution.

I think the Folsom History Museum Gift Shop is a natural and is missing the boat on this opportunity. Two weeks ago I wandered all over Sutter St. looking for a Johnny Cash poster for my nephew and couldn't find one (although I did not try the visitors bureau).

How about turning the vacant Yager's Tap House & Grill into a Johnny Cash themed restaurant and merchandise store?
