Chris, I always thought the word mandate was used when the winner had a big edge, a landslide even. I do not think it has anything to do with the congress which was already a majority in both house and senate. I guess I can understand why Trumpolinis people want to label it as such. It's been a long time since Obama. The thing is, the word mandate seems silly when people are tearing up the streets and the popular vote is a 50-50 deal. Not to mention the planned mass Innauguration day protests either. I never thought W had a mandate and I voted for him twice. Especially in his first term.
People tearing up the streets....... Yes, the tolerant left having a hissy fit, an all out toddler tantrum, in the streets. You never see the right doing this stuff. They are the adults, the ones with jobs to go to, the ones who have to be up at 0430, the producers, the taxpayers funding the very people in the streets via the teet of big government. And inauguration protests....? Yep, that sounds about what they would do. Never happened to Obama, the right showed him respect on his inauguration day, as they should. I am sure lots of cars will be burned during Trumps day, store windows broken, people assaulted who don't look "tolerant". and a lot of police uniforms messed up with bags of poop, bleach, paint, and piss that is thrown at them. Not to mention the rocks and bricks that will seriously injure many of the "thin blue line". Oh, and sad below.... Portland protesters arrested... Most of them did not vote...?

PORTLAND, Ore. — Most of the 112 protesters arrested in Portland last week didn’t vote in Oregon, according to state election records. Approximately 30 percent did cast a ballot in Oregon or in another state.
At least seventy-nine demonstrators either didn’t turn in a ballot or weren’t registered to vote in the state.
Following Tuesday's presidential election of Donald Trump, thousands of people took to the streets in downtown Portland for five straight nights. The activity included at least one night that the police declared to be a riot, with more than $1 million in property damage. The bulk of the arrests happened on Friday and Saturday evenings as protesters faced off against police.
KGW compiled a list of the 112 people arrested by the Portland Police Bureau during recent protests. Those names and ages, provided by police, were then compared to state voter logs by Multnomah County Elections officials.
Records show 39 of the protesters arrested were registered in the state but didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote in Oregon............
