Cw, what label did Gaelic apply to all the people in the Bay Area?
I know your trying hard to catch me on something....just be patient .....I'm far from perfect and should be messing up soon then you can have your revenge.
The Christian side of me would encourage you to not be motivated by vengance.

I'm not motivated by vengance. I'm trying to show you that I think you made a mountain out of a mole hill. By saying that she found some who hate conservatives move to the Bay, she's inferring that the Bay doesn't have too many conservatives. Perhaps, then, she's labeling an area as full of liberals and by your definition, that's offensive.

I think you are really reaching with your "perhaps"
Just be patient, I screw up frequently and when I do I'll be expecting your response.

I'm totally reaching, that's why I told Gaelic to be careful and not label anyone.
It's good we keep each other on our toes.

It's good we keep each other on our toes.
Maybe we can work together?
It gets overwhelming at times fighting the injustices of the area, specially for a sensitive guy like myself. Things like speaking out when a group gets unfairly labled, fighting to make sure the poor don't have to pay taxes for a building they can't afford to attend, reminding city council candidates where they placed their campaign signs the previous 4 years, when they seemed to have convienently forgotten about it and I'm still waiting to get that copy of the RFP where we sold the city land next to the HS for about 1/3 rd of its value. It seems no one at the city can find it?????
I may have to slow down and pick & choose my battles....maybe you could pick up a few for me?

Interesting article, I thought this paragraph particularly interesting.
Clearly, there exists a double—standard among white liberals who claim to be advocates of public schooling and defenders of diversity, yet cannot bring it on themselves to send their children to public schools where children from other racial groups dominate both academically and numerically. This apparent disregard for liberal principles results from whites being placed in a situation where they no longer exert control over a minority group they claim to champion. One white parent called this double—standard 'the secret that everyone knows, but no one wants to talk about', adding, 'You'll be called a bigot (or worse) if you mention it.'
We actually chose NSE because there was a higher Asian population at the school. We want our children to go to a more diverse school.

so....hopefully they won't wind up as a murderous Che Guevera and/or a "Stalinist" loving "one world government commie socialist pig"... because.... well that would be wrong...
seeing as how we are mostly "capitalist" swine here.. well at least I am...
Peace brother...
SpecialEDF, the district adopted science text my class uses, which reflects the state standards and is not selected by a liberal teacher, has one lesson on global warming. The "gay agenda", where do you come up with this crap. Next thing you know you will be obsessing over a trimmed bush!

Maybe you should try being the open minded one by possibly waiting to meet the good citizens of GB before prejudging them based on your preconceived biases towards conservatives. You might be pleasantly enlightnened to the point of possibly reconsidering some of your views.
Its your preconceived, stereotyped thinking that allows you to even consider that everyone in GB thinks the same way. The people I know who have a variety of viewpoints, would never think any community has only ONE viewpoint.
Its too bad you don't have the capabilities to recognize and accept it was your title that was hostile towards conservatives and that your attitude prompted some of the responses. I've seen this with others who intially cast aspersions towards others then claim others aren't nice with their responses.
BTW, in the last test scores I saw, the Folsom Schools scored higher than the Davis Schools.
Great, next thing you know these damn teachers will want a raise.

But yes, I am a volvo-driving liberal. I happen to do well for myself in a corporate job and can afford a nice neighborhood with great schools. And yes, it's true that I don't want to live where everyone is closed-minded, anti-evolutionists, book burning, RUSH fans. Some I can tolerate, just not an entire community.
I don't have any reason to believe that GB is like that; and having learned virtually nothing from this board other that people are quick to make assumptions and get defensive, I probably will move to GB and enjoy life over there.
So have fun in Folsom without me. I'm sure I won't be missed.
p.s. W is the worst President we've ever had.
cheers!
they tend to get punchy here, you can tell who's a hardcore conservative and who's normal based on the posts they make here. don't let that the aholes get you down, they're everywhere so you can't really avoid them no matter where you go. It is hard to tolerate the Rush boobs, but they probably have a hard time with Cyndy Sheehan too although she's not on a daily show ranting and raving but then again she doesn't have as much money as Rush to afford a program on which to spread his propaganda bs. You are absolutely right that W is the worse president ever, but you just now insulted the hero of these people, now they're really going to be mad at you. ignorance is bliss.
