I have to admit thought, FLB feels kinda skanky. There were skanky people there

Any place that needs bouncers is a place I try to stay away from. Trouble lurking....
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

So you don't go to FLB, Yager's, Powerhouse, Scarlett's, or Streets of London?

SoL rarely has a bouncer. I've only ever seen one on holidays.

If you need bouncers, that's a red flag. Go at your own risk....or just don't go during "amateur hours". That's my motto. Glad you asked.

My family has been running our Sports Bar for the last 29 years when we didn't have any bouncers to now where on a Friday or Saturday night we have 3-4 Bouncers and 2-3 managers all with Radios working. We don't use bouncers for just security we use them for helping set up the bar, cleaning up throughout the sports bar, checking ID's at the door, walking the parking lot, securing the casino, and many other tasks besides security. What is nice is that all of our bouncers have radios and earpieces so that they communicate with each other throughout the entire place! So if I have one bouncer in the parking lot, one at the front door, one in the casino, one on the patio, one behind the bar and one by the dance floor and a couple guys on the patio start to have words for whatever reason we can have 5 security guards at the scene to stop any unfortunate situation before it ever happens.

Being at a busy place that has alcohol and or gambling and not seeing security is a RED flag. We are very responsible we take our job and our patrons well being very seriously. When you come to the FLB Sports Bar & Casino you will feel comfortable that we have security checking id's talking to people, rooming through the parking lot, and always making sure that everything is safe and controlled. Some of the biggest fights that have ever happened and that will continue to happen will be at the bars that have been mentioned that don't take security and the customers safety as a major priority! We believe in Deterring and preventing unfortunate situations form ever happening.

Best Regards,
Dan Dreher

That's fine and dandy. My point is that, personally, I avoid places that attract a certain element, if you know what I mean. Not saying your place is rough, but the potential certainly is there. No offense.

I have to say that you never hear about anything happening at or around the Lake Bowl, while you constantly hear about fights, vandalism, drunkeness on Sutter Street.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

To Dan's point:

Any place that has gambling and alcohol should have security. Just common sense.

I can't believe that a local business owner's announcement of welcome remodeling has resulted in so much vitriol. I think some of you should undergo a bit of self-examination as to why you've been so hostile in this thread. Or, at the very least, have the courage not to hide behind an anonymous screen name.

I agree.

It seems nearly every thread about local businesses turn into some sort of complain-fest.

Yea Dan, what's the scoop? I hear the first two cocktails are on you! You can call me an old patron; remember when ABT used to hit the house? I always cashed and cut, even with the bone dry, deep inside shot, or playing the twig. At this point, some are wondering what I'm talking about...but you know.

Congrats on the upgrade, I'm sure everything will be new and exciting after the face lift. The whiners and complainers don't have a clue about the industry and the roller coaster ride it's been on over the last 20 years. Hang in there!
