So? It's still a flipping burger joint if they serve burgers--I see absolutely no reason --especially if it is the busiest day of the year--why they can't tell people--show up and we'll seat you.

mumble..mumble..mumble

I mean I got turned away with my kids in with me!!!

I'm so p/o I'll probably never go there, now.

I'd rather show up and be told there is a wait for X amount of minutes rather than told I can't eat at all, because they reserved all there tables for the whole evening. Dumb!!

I hope their restaurant burns to the ground.

Well, ok, maybe I don't hope that--but dang it--I really had a hankering for a quality burger last night.
k

Folsom Bistro is kid friendly.

I'll have to take everyone's word for it on the Kobe Burger...I can't bring myself to go in there...nothing against the new tenants, but I have too many fond memories from when we occupied the space, I don't think I could go there without being emotional...so I'll keep eating my Karen Burgers

If you're going just for a burger, then I don't know how to compare unless some one volunteers to try all these restaurants. But if you're going for a more relaxed (quiet) and refined experience (white table clothes and service) and a more delicate menu, then I recommend Folsom Bistro.

Oh and the traffic, come on, it's not that bad. Try driving from S.F. to Berkley during rush hour traffic, that is the real deal. The rainbow bridge traffic is nothing.

Dave

I'm a Bay Area transplant as well and I completely agree - valley natives don't know what bad traffic really is! Yeah, the Rainbow Bridge can be annoying, but it's NOTHING compared to the 80 or the 101 at rush hour. By the way, rush hour in the Bay Area can be pretty much any time on a weekday or weekend except from 1 am to 4 am. Then when you finally get to your destination, you gotta deal with parking. Don't even get me started on parking... ohmy.gif

I will probably piss off the gas station owner for posting this, but if you need to get into that shopping center, just make a left onto Greenback then immediate right into the gas station, then go around the side of the station to the main parking lot. Much easier than sitting on Folsom Auburn for a half hour waiting for a clear moment to turn in.

Take the opportunity to stop and fill up at the fabulous Folsom Chevron, now with Techron! With clean bathrooms and free air and water, you can't beat Chevron! Chevron, Human Energy.

.. or is that on the 76 side of the street... *doh*

naw you guys haven't experienced REALLY bad traffic until you've tried to drive the 405 frwy from Hollywood to Long Beach during commuter time (3-6pm) - its especially fun when you get near LAX

back to the subject: I really gotta try Folsom Bistro soon, but on a similar note, I did go and try Bistro 33 in EDH last weekend - very nice place!

If you forget the gas station trick you could also turn up by McDonald's . Traffic is usually stopped there, so you can turn in pretty quick as long as some a-hole in a hurry to get two inches farther doesn't block you.

Happy to see this thread has finally dropped the SuperMom Valentines day (unrealistic, illogical) rant because FB is a great place! We attended a wine event featuring Domain Chandon and although we didn't plan to dine there that evening, the aromas of the Hangar Steaks and that night's special changed our minds and we had a great dinner with another couple at the wine tasting.

The food and service is great. The place has a special attitude that in todays restaurant business is absolutely critical to its success. The chef visits the front of the house offering a personal touch and ensuring the food from the kitchen is meeting or exceeding expectations, they offer amuse buche (in past 2 visits were samples of their soups), have a great selection of salads and are doing the right things.

PS Mike Dunne reviewed Folsom Bistro and had only good things to say about the food and staff - http://www.sacbee.co...ory/748803.html

Cheers
