We've eaten at Old Europe a few times. My kind of food and these folks do it well. Good and attentive service.

Their schnitzel is the bomb. Its actually a hard dish to do well. The side dishes are fabulous...great braised red cabbage, good spaetzle. The burger was very good but I'd get the mayo and mustard on the side because it was laid on a little too heavily. Good pastas. The smoked salmon appetizer served on a salad makes for an excellent light main course.

I'm going to have to go back pretty soon to try the braised pork shank. Done well thats one of the best dishes on the planet. Oh, and I need to try some of those homemade sausages.

Two thumbs up.

It was a usual Sunday afternoon where several of my friends and myself hookup at Old Europe, We used to go the Old Location every Sunday for our (meeting of the Great Minds) and today I walked in and Lo and Behold ! there is none other than our own Daveburr tending the beertaps!!! yes indeed, such a multi-faceted person Dave is!! he kept our beer steins full and our hunger satiated... what more could you ask for? a great guy, friendly personality and since he got his haircut (by the way Dave, you look ten years younger?) a suave and deboner barkeep!! I just want all of us to support Dave in his new endevor.... P.S. if you go, do not expect a free beer!!! carnivore... have a great evening...

Thanks carnivore, I appreciate the kind words and it was a blast seeing you, Jim and Whitey.

I gotta point out though - Allen's the man making it happen (he started this thread) - that guy has really been helping Old Europe a lot and he helped me get that gig - all the credit goes to him for doing a helluva fantastic job there in helping manage things and plan the future and he and his friend Steve have been creating new art, logos and a great new website. Allen's one very smart dude and with him, you, me and everyone else spreading the word, Old Europe's going to do very well in the new location.

Come on down folks - great food, great beer and good times!

We went there again for lunch on Sunday and took the parents. I had the German rouladen, which was excellent. My dad had the Eisbein, which was unbelievable, and the portions were huge. We had only been there once before but they still remembered us by name, what a great staff and fantastic place.

This place is definitely one of the best in town!

I had the German Burger today - I dripped mustard on my shirt so I am hiding in my cube the rest of the afternoon. Got great service from Dave and Allen!
Allen - I found Old Europe Folsom on Facebook.

yea, after you left I asked Dave if that was you (I wasn't sure since I had only met you once). I should have come over and bothered you. I will next time. Looked like you were pretty busy with your son.

Big Party this Saturday March 28th at Old Europe Restaurant
in old town Folsom at 825 Sutter Street

We will be preparing a large 120lb roast pig along with outstanding German sausages on our huge custom BBQ out in our nice open air patio - and have a Guinness Beer with your roast pig for only 1 cent!

Enjoy a great meal along with some great beer, good friends and good times.

See you there!

Ohhhhh THAT sounds like a good thing! What time - lunch or after the bridge get crossed?

And dang! Dave said he would be there today and I planned to wrap up and get there for lunch but got bogged down. It would have been good seeing everyone that was there. Next time.
