The deal was negotiated by the former City Manager, shortly afterwards people were talking about what happened. Next the City Manager announces they are leaving their position to spend more time with their daughters, yet they are given some NO BID Bridge Consulting contract, despite never having done this before AND they get another contract to help pass the Arena tax, while they open up their Consulting/Lobbying company. So much for spending more time with their daughters?
ONE council person writes a public letter to the Editor, calling the former City Manager, the best City Manager ever, despite leaving $14 million on table over this deal. The person who wrote the letter was Kerrie, noIt any of the good ol boys. None of the other council members have ever said there was an RFP, so how can I bag on them for something they didn't say?
Its probably time you and I get together and chat in private?
BTW, I've been cautioned in a way that some might consider a threat, about talking about this any more.
Robert, I suggest you do something formal about this and quit trying to solve this and/or get everyone to hate Kerri via this forum. You've stated your position time and time again. Whenever anyone disagrees with you or your stance you get your panties in a bunch. You're not going to change anything here. Honestly, you're beginning to seem unhealthly focused on this land deal and your desire to get everyone against Kerri.

Real Estate was overpriced then (does this even need to be said?).

Come on, fish or cut bait. You go on and on and on without actually saying anything, implying there's some secret story you're not allowed to divulge, but gosh it's important. I have been told... in a private conversation that I'll tell you all I had... Pay attention to the facts I'm not giving you... Hmm, stroke chin, sure is suspicious! I might have been threatened! With what, death? Prison? Parking tickets? Don't tell us. Go call the FBI.

You are probably correct, but it wouldn't have been better if the City of Folsom got the $21 million instead of $7 million?

Are you afraid of the facts about this deal, who was responsible for what and who said what, being exposed to the public?
The City of Folsom left $14 million on the table over this deal and now they are having to make cuts to our services. These past decisons are having a significant impact on our lives so why are you trying to sweep the past under the rug? I get the impression, you are more motivated to protect someone's involvement, than you are in having the truth exposed.
If what I have said about this deal isn't accurate or factual, then please enlighten me.
If you want to stick your head in the sand and avoid reality about who did what, I'll support your right to do so, but how about supporting my right to post the facts and ask questions?

Seems like you have a theory - can you name names (obviously in a way the you won't invite any legal ramifications) and identify who all benefitted from this deal?
After all, somebody made 14 mil...

This topic is NOT ABOUT some land deal some years ago and based on the blather this topic should either be closed or all the off topic land deal post should be eliminated . I prefer the latter
One way or the other - no options in between --
OK ?
To those Mods participating in this off topic banter - do your jobs -

I'm not trying to ignore anything, nor protect anyone. Quit dancing around the issue and alluding to things as if you're so much more knowledgable than the rest of us. And quit using every thread that involves the council as your soapbox. Make an offical action. Bring it to the council, file a lawsuit. Whatever. Just quit harping here and accusing people (like me) of things of which they are not guilty. I honestly don't care as much about it as you do. Call me bad names, accuse me of whatever. I'm completely entitled to whatever feelings, or lack thereof, on this. If it's such a big, fat hairy deal to you then get off your arse and actually do something constructive about it. Just give it up here and give the rest of us a break.

No not at all, but I question why you're afraid to accuse anyone else on the council, besides Kerri, of any wrong doing with this deal... it needs to be more then just "she wrote a letter", she alone cannot sell and sign deals for city property.
Is your reality that Kerri alone negotiated and signed off on this deal?
It will be clipped out later (I'd do it now but I don't know how, mylo usually move the threads..)
, just skip reading this thread for now...

Dave, you are good guy with the best intentions. I appreciate your questions and appreciate your attempt at getting to the truth in all this. Lets kinda walk through this together.
Let me ask you this, if you were on the City Council and you just voted to sell 33 acres of land for $7.1 million based upon the negotiations of your city manager and then watch the person who bought it, resell it for $21 million 6 weeks later, how would you as a city council member feel about this? I'm going to guess, you probably are going to be pretty upset and that heads might roll or they should.
As we all know politics creates some strange bedfellows at times. It also takes 3 votes to pass anything so if lets say one member had misguided loyalty for some other reason to someone and one had to return a political personal favor and another wasn't quite sure and wanted to give everyone a second chance, what should have happened may not have occurred.
In time as more people talked about the city getting screwed on this land sale, even posting about this on the internet, the pressure for the council to to do something was growing. You can probably forsee how the one council member might attempt to mislead members of the community trying to diffuse the pressure, by using the words like RFP and Appraisals, making it appear that the process was legitimate and the best deal was received by the city. We all know it wasn't.
You know that eventually the truth comes out and a change has to be made, so to keep everyone happy a deal is cut to keep everything quiet and some touchy feel good story is created. (Remember all this is being paid by you & I the taxpayers). To top all this off, whip cream is added to this creation with a council person writing a public letter adding to the disinformation campaign.
All 5 Council members voted to sell this land, shortly afterwards a few realized we gave away the farm and paid for the closing costs. IMO, they all should share equally in their accountability. However, one embarked a great misinformation campaign misleading the residents and creating all kinds of obstacles for making the changes that should have been made years ago. This severly hurt our city, costing us dearly. IMO, the one who did this needs to be called out, in addition to their voting for the sale of this land.
Hopefully this answers all your questions about things. If you have more, we can meet for lunch, my treat.

I haven't broken any rules of this forum with my posts. If you don't like my posts, maybe you should stop reading them, instead of trying to tell me what to do.
I support your right to post about things, how about showing someone else the same courtesy?
I also support your right to choose to support who ever you want in the city council, just don't get mad at me when I bring up the facts about your favorite city council person's misleading the residents about the sale of that land next to the HS. If you choose to ignore the facts about this issue, its your right, but its my right to keep the facts out in front of people, so they can make informed choices.
You've done a good job at attacking the messengar, but I've noticed you have NEVER addressed any of the facts. Why is that?
The fact is we as a city lost $14 million dollars over this deal and YOUR favorite City Council person wrote a letter calling the very person who negoitiated the deal, the best City Manager ever. If you want to stick your head in the sand to avoid addressing this issue, its definitely your right to do so.
The underlying problem here is you can't handle the reality of the truth!

Robert, years ago I did comment on it. But I'm sick of your story. Like I said, do something about it besides sitting here b*tching about it. Take action or get out of the past. Life is too good, too fun and full of too many things. Male a change or let it go. The underlying truth here is your endless harping about it here isn't doing Jack diddly expect turn people off and make people tune out.

Actually, based upon the number of emails, phone calls and personal visits I've gotten all wanting to know what they can do to make a change, to get rid of those on the council who approved this, I'd have to disagree with you.
