who was the kid under the bad? Was it Sawyer as a boy? Witnessing his parents' death? Didn't seem like it was shot in the 70s, it looked recent.

Thought the same thing. Musta been Sawyer as a kid though.
BTW, despite the short scene that little fella was a heck of an actor. I actually felt really bad for him and I rarely feel anything about TV other than impatience and anger.

I am pretty sure (99.9%) that the kid under the bed was Sawyer as a child. It's consistent with the letter he had with him and his story line up to now.
I can also believe that the guy he kills in Australia wasn't the right guy....that'd lay a whole pile of guilt on him to carry around.
1) He killed an innocent man
2) The one he's after is still out there.
It goes with the conversation he had with the female lead by the fire.... She admitted that she killed someone and so did Sawyer, but HIS killing has these additional layers built in.
My wife and I agreed that, essentially, last night was a complete wash. Nothing new was learned other than this new guilt we know Sawyer has. Other than that, it was a bust.

No doubt in my mind that the kid under the bed was Sawyer witnessing (hearing) his dad kill his mom and then turning the gun on himself. Sawyer was years later conned into killing the wrong guy and actually convinced to carry out his plan by Jacks dad. I think Sawyer has realized it was Jacks dad he shared a bottle with in the bar but isn't willing to share that piece of info with Jack.
This program is still holding my interest but let's just hope last night was a weak episode.....

That's about where I'm at with Lost. I think we've caught up to the writer's imaginations and strange coincidences.

Next week looks EPIC!
Did anyone notice when Jin went to the guy's house, who was on TV that the little girl was watching...? It was Hurley.

I can think of numerous reasons why he shouldn't have walked away from her. There's a time for everything, and now wasn't the time.
Now he's expendable character if I ever saw one.....

Once again Locke says about 3 sentences and shuts everyone up.

Pretty good episode.

anyone that gets TV Guide can read a blurb about next week's episode, including Hurley's back-story.....as usual, VERY interesting twist.

Yeah, I did notice that. I also noticed that Sun looks pretty hot in a swimsuit

The romancing going on between Sahid and Shannon is starting to get annoying though
To all you Freaks, don't stop the rock....

Now we're into numerology!
I'll admit, I enjoyed tonight's episode.

they are answering some questions, while creating more, which is good. It was good to see Hurley's background (finally). Now the numbers are very intriguing!
