The Ocean King on Stockton is very good. I have been going there for the last 12 years.

Hey, if you recommend it, we're trying it. We've been to that Asian buffet place in Roseville you told us about half a dozen times. Even if we don't like this one, we still owe you one for telling us about that one. smile.gif

Thanks!

Has anyone gone to eat at my brother vinnys or whatever it is called on sutter street in folsom. Me and my girlfriend went there a couple months back and it was horrible it was not a busy night there and we waited nearly 20 minutes for our server to come to our table once we had sat down. The servers also were very rude and the food was not good. All in all i cant imagine a restaurant like that could even make it a few months. I dont know if we just had a bad experience or what and was just wondering what anyone else thats gone there thought.

Mike

I heard similar stories when they first opened.

The restaurant is owned by the same guy(s) that owned Bailies (they recently sold it).

I think they kept the staff from when it was Lanza's, and were working on the service.

I've eaten there for lunch once, and had appetizers in the bar a couple of times. The food was good.

The Greek place behind KFC on bidwell was good (Kabob House?), the baklava was particularly good.

I found a moth in my salad at the Sizzler in Folsom, but have still been back there since.

The Mongolian BBQ place (on Bidwell, next to Tricks gymnastics) is pretty good.

Any Round Table pizza not located in an airport has the best pizza (anyone who disagrees is obviously itching for a fight).

And the A&W across from Costco is now open, although I haven't been yet. Rootbear float straight from the fountain is the best.

While i will agree that Round Table has very good pizza, it seems to me that over the last few years That the quality of there food has gone down some. Ive recently started going to folsom family pizza and sometimes up to steves pizza in EDH or in Fair Oaks In my opinion the pizza is far superior. Chicago Fire is also a very good pizza place if you wish to have a full service dinner. Anybody have experiences with the Black Angus here?? ive never been a big fan but went there for lunch the other day and it almost felt like i was at Dennys... The decor the servers and everything it was very slow with marignal food i just wasnt impressed at all.

BTW. Heard the Olive Garden owns land in town dont know when it supposed to open but i remember someone told me beggining of the year ish. Anyone confirm this??

Taiko Sushi in the Broadstone Marketplace was very good. We went there Thursday and if you like sushi and Japanese food, it is a great place to go. :-)

I haven't seen Pho Hoa mentioned here, so I will. biggrin.gif
They opened a few months ago by Kohl's, and it's a great place.
Pho Hoa is a chain of Vietnamese noodle restaurants, and although they have meat dishes their main attraction is soup.
My family's been going to Pho Hoa since the early 90's, in their first location in San Jose, and before the one here in Folsom opened we would actually commute to Sacramento just to go there.
Healthy, customizable, very reasonable prices, and amazing taste.

The Rice Bowl buffet on Howe Avenue was good the two times I've been. The one on Greenback was so-so the one time I went.
Fat's Asia Bistro will open in Folsom next year and lots more (dozens) restaurants of various kinds will be here in 2006 and 2007 after the mall opens.
Maybe Folsom will have a "Hotdog on a Stick" and Il Fornaio across from each other in 2007!
