Nate,

To paraphrase a quote from American Flyers, a great 80s biking movie starring a young Kevin Costner:

You're in front of me this week, but you're really still behind me.

In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

Oh man! I thought there was a glimmer of hope regarding your coolness. Then you busted out with a Kevin Costner quote.

Really? Kevin Costner?

Norm,
I like to think of it as "baiting". I like to give guys like you and tgianco a little taste of victory early in the season before I take it away. neener.gif

BTW: I wasn't betting with my heart on the Raider game. I honestly thought they had a shot at beating a banged up DMac and company. Looks like I was wrong. Anybody on the boards capable of kicking a DAMN field goal???? raincloud.gif

Well, it was a Costner film, not a Costner quote. It was actually a quote from the "bad guy" rider.

By the way, how can you wuote Bull Durham, one of the coolest movies of all time w/o quoting Costner? The answer: You can't.

Ooh, you got faced (haven't busted that one out since the 6th grade).

Honestly, I think I could smile.gif man Seabas has cost this team another win plus the stupid penalties that come at the worst time. (40 years and the Raiders have won the most penalty award 14 of the 40 years, geezzzzzz) NHardy, don't know if you agree but as good as Collins #'s are he sure is hurting the team with his happy feet. Maybe thats why he has been on 4 teams. And the penalties arrgghhh madsmiley.png censored.gif . Ok I'm cool

I hope they get another ar$e chewing this week like last week. I took my son to the Raiders Lair in Alameda to drop off a car for one of the coaches (long story, maybe I'll explain at the get2gether) and they were getting an earful. This week should be no different.

Hey, I always root for CAL when they play there PAC10 rivals.
Cal games to watch:
11/12 - USC
11/19 - Stanford

Stanford cheer after losing rofl.gif
"That's alright, that's OK, you'll be working for us someday" I actually witnessed / heard this after they lost to San Jose State.

Go Cal!

Where is the LaMont Jordon that everyone deemed the "work horse"? Each game the Raiders gameplan is to run Jordon often to avoid 3rd and long. What happens? The opponent takes him out of the game and they end up having to play catch up by throwing the ball. Where is Randy Moss and Jerry Porter?!?! Why is Moss taking himself out of plays already??? Did you notice his non existence in the 3rd quarter?

One bright spot is Courtney Anderson. I will put him up against Antonio Gates any day of the week. A great TE.

I never liked the Norv Turner signing. The guy's a great Offensive Coordinator, but he lacks the ability to strike fear into his team as a Head Coach. It's only a matter of time before the Raiders start getting flustered and begin pointing fingers at each other....again...

Dude, I agree with you on all basis. And what the heck! Moss is the best player on the field, with great hands and a crazy vertical leap.. so why doesn't Norv utilize it. I think (unless he proves it) we are finding out that Jordan is not the every down back that we all thought he would be.

By the way, whether Gruden baited the 49ers into taking A Smith or not. We are finding out that Cadillac Williams is for real.

Seriously!! Smith's a work in progress. I think the Niners are doing OK offensively with Rattay. If they would have taken Cadillac instead of Smith they would be in good position to pick up Matt Leinart next year (cause you know they'll have a high draft pick). Kevin Barlow is a steaming pile of poop.

IMO they jumped the gun on the QB position.

I don't know why Barlow is getting the ball so much. He is too inconsistent. I like Gore and Hicks.

Sure it would be great to have Cadillac. I wouldn't gamble on being in position to get Leinart next year though.

Time will tell if Smith is going to be a star. In the meantime, Rattay is playing well.

We didn't lose the game because of Rattay or Barlow. We put up 31 points. That should be enough to get you a win in the NFL.

True Steve but 7 of those came on Parrish TD and other other setup by INT. Yes its going to take some time to how ASmith develops but I do think they jumped the gun on QB knowing Lienart and Bromh will be out there this year. I think they should have gone OLine or running back. Oh well.

Gore should be starting! But can't change that right now. Barlow like ASmith is getting paid a lot of money hence they have no choice this early in the season to make that change. As an NFL fan we would love to see the change but from management and $$ and sense perspective no way boohoo.gif
