I never considered Ms Teaz as having a great redeeming social purpose....

My point was that lacking a great redeeming social purpose, Ms. Teaz has no justification for civil disobedience. What higher Moral Law is she answering to in order to explain breaking the city ordinance?

Ms. Teaz already lost $75K in legal fees, it's time for her to move on.

I wrote this in response to those who were trying to make the weak point that Ms. Teaz's business has a greater redeeming social purpose (helping married couples enhance their relationship)....Bologna!....Are we supposed to believe that adult toys are so important to adult relationships, that without them, marriages will fail or families will be destroyed? Are we supposed to believe that the "need" for these products is so great or so essential, so as to justify civil disobedience?........Of course not!

Time and time again I have read and I truly believe...Couples that play together stay together.

I'm curious - what are the chances of a shop selling water pipes, rolling papers, etc. being allowed to stay there?

No, like a head shop - y'know, legal merchandise that could be used for what could be considered illegal or immoral activities...

And I believe couples who play too much of the kinky stuffs want to play more with other couples. It's called whatever you want to call it. It lead to swinging may be? One way to degrade women in my opinion.

naw, thats just stereo typing and is assuming too much. being kinky with your spouse doesn't mean you are lusting for others.

Ah, cyber, this sounds like a vibrator "gateway drug" scenario. Perhaps a public service announcement is in order:

"Little Timmy thought he would start out innocently enough with a vibrator or perhaps some butt plugs for Mrs. Timmy. But, little did he know that these toys led down a darker path...the path to (DA, DA, DAAAAA, scary theme music) SWINGING!!!"

It's not degrading to women and doesn't lead to swinging.

Cyber- where did come up with this idea ? Maybe in a mind of one that does not understand the value or merit of sex or one that has never experienced anything but vanilla.
Surely your idea is off base as there is a large percentage of women that desire more than the vanilla versions of sex with their monogamous partners and often with themselves...

What a joke those places are! Are there actually people who smoke tobacco out of bongs? Do people really stuff their blow glass skull shaped pipes with tobacco? When was the last time you heard of somebody using an "herbal cleanser" to clean out their system of tobacco? I've always wondered how those places stay in business.

Despite the ruling this thread is mostly filled with snoody(sp?) hioty toity replies. Prior to Folsom's ruling I did not see anything wrong with shop like Ms. Teaz being in Folsom. It seems that a lot of you on here have a holier than thou attitude.

A sex/lingerie shop will not ruin Folsom, your kids, or Old Folsom. The attitudes that a lot of you display are closed minded and downright misinformed when it comes to Ms. Teaz. It appears to me that they capitalized on something that Folsom was missing and profited off it. Nothing wrong with that.

If you don't think that Folsomites are buying handcuffs, sexual aids, lingerie, etc. you are sadly mistaken or too jaded to admit it.

You guys get so riled up over a little shop its funny.

Why don't you guys get WalMart shut down too since they sell "sexual aids"?

Borders Books and other sells pornograhic videos and magazines so do convience stores, out with them too.

During the goldmine era prostitution was rampant in a lot of mining towns. I am sure "Old Folsom" was no different. Perhaps Ms. Teaz may not be out of place in Old Folsom she may just be bringing Folsom back to its sexual roots in a toned down fashion.
