I had lunch at the Macaroni Grill yesterday: Sea Sea Scallops, Spinach, Arugula, Feta Cheese, Crispy Prosciutto, Toasted Walnuts, and Parmesan Crisps with Light Citrus Dressing. $11.99
I also had a Freshly Brewed Cup of Coffee $2.19.
Total Bill $15.29
Tip $5
I must say for my lunch yesterday, Scale of 1-5 (5 being best),
Ambiance 3, Service 5+ , Food, 4

*Note: I rate the restaurants based on the ambiance, service and food, and NOT on the price of the meals unless its absolutely outrageous.

Bon Appetit!

Spicy,

Even though Il Forniao is not in town, how would you rate them?

My wife and I went to the Sunny Garden (out by Raley's) last weekend.

The menu offers an impressive array of choices. The option of brown rice was a nice change from the usual white rice with no flavor. Pork fried rice was flavorful but not greasy. Vegetables were fresh and not overcooked-just the right amount of crunch. A beef sauce had some nice depth, but the garlic sauce on seafood was a bit bland,. The shrimp and scallops with vegetables were all good quality. Egg rolls were crisp and crunchy but not greasy, but veggies inside with no meat. Egg drop soup had good flavor and not overly thickened. Cashew chicken had more than enough cashews but could have used just a bit more chicken. Desert of deep fried bananas with ice cream had a good batter without too much grease, but the bananas inside were a day or two overripe. $27 plus tip.

We would rate the food as a 3 out of 5, service was very cheerful and prompt so a 3+ there, but the ambiance is about a 1. We will go back for more because the food is worth it.

Thank you for your comment. Glad you enjoyed the food/service/place. Susan Laird from Village Life also rated Sunny Garden positively.

I ordered three dishes. One of the dishes had hair. The second dish was not what I ordered. The server was "Mr. Know-it-all". The owner left the place...went to sleep in her car.

We all have our own preferences.

Hope today is a good day...and tomorrow is even better.

I think we could agree that they are inconsistent. If I experienced what you did I would rate the place the same as you.

Yes, you are correct.
Il Fornaio
400 Capitol Mall
Sacramento, CA CA 95814
(916) 446-4100

Great Tiramisu and Beef Carpaccio.
Il Fornaio would do well in the Folsom area, Hwy 50 & E Bidwell, near Fats.

Bon Appétit!

I know I know, you need to maintain your super secret identity - although I'm pretty sure I know who you are and am surprised you're doing this, but must admit I do enjoy your posts.

however, I have to say that your restaurant reviews are just your own opinion and I hope all folks who read them realize that. I say this only because many of your reviews are off base compared to other reviews of the same establishments. (and in some cases its like you have some kind of vendetta against the owners)

No offense (seriously), its just that you act like a professional restaurateur (food snob) and although it appears you may have been to many places, unless you have a culinary background or have been in the business, you should give some places a second try or bring others in to help you better qualify your ratings.

again, no offense, just sayin.....
