the hog that splits and sits right next to you while they constantly rev the engine for no @#$! reason other than to be loud...

Now, the rice rocket that splits lanes down Madison when traffic is already going 50 MPH or the hog that splits and sits right next to you while they constantly rev the engine for no @#$! reason other than to be loud... those guys produce visions of my bumper tapping their wheel.

in both those cases - those riders are complete MORONS - reach out and smack 'em upside the head, they need it

I myself cannot stand idiots on Harleys that constantly rev their motors - there's no need for it, if the damn thing is gonna die then bury it or get it fixed already, don't be annoying everyone else making noise for unnecessary reaons

I hate to say but some harley riders should not be out there riding, they're poser weekend riders looking for attention and they can't ride worth squat

what I have done when I see an old lane splitter coming up is open my door like it wasn't closed proper. I do it when the guy is way back but I hope it sends a message as to what would happen if a car driver accidently had to open the door and didn't know an old bike was sneaking through

oh and I make sure its not a lawman too cause I wouldn't want to put the scare into a motor cop cause they are sort of my heros. I saw one working on Blue Ravine by the school the other day when the yellow light was going and he was pulling cars over faster than he could write the tickets.

Kind of reminded me of one of those WWII fighter pilots that swooped out of the clouds to nail the enemy.

One thing you gotta know about me is I don't necessarily dislike Harleys, I just always make fun of them. See my dad is a Harley guy, has had them his whole life. The first new bike I ever bought was a Triumph... he was real happy about that. biggrin.gif

I'm with you. I spent four years in Daytona Beach, home of a massive Bike Week (that actually lasts two weeks). Like 'em or not, making fun of the Harley's being pushed down the side of the road was a common pastime. tongue.gif

Same here. If I could afford it and had a place to store it, I would want one of them Orange County Custom Choppers.

But I am a diehard honda man thru & thru.

Although I've got friends telling me I should consider a beemer for my next two-wheeler.

I'm thinking I've got the bases covered in the garage. Hondas, Suzuki, Yamaha, Vespa... YES!!! I need something German.

Chris,

Have you seen the new BMW G650X Challenge? Kind of occupies the same market niche as your DRZ. I've owned a couple of BMW boxers and they were certainly fine bikes. If I go back to BMW, though, I'd probably give something like that G650X a try.

That bike is really cool. If it had been out when I bought my DRZ I probably would have gotten it instead. I've got my eyes on an F800GS. Don't tell my wife though. laugh.gif

Yes I like it too... I had a chance to ride a F800ST last year and it was the smoothest, most buttery motorcycle ever. If they kept all the balancers in the engine, there's no way you're going to know you're actually on a dirt bike.

That F800GS is sweet, but I'm not sure I'd call it a "dirt bike". I know, I know...there are people who ride these things in crazy places. I bet it would be a blast on fire roads and reasonably well graded dirt/gravel roads!
